When will Dark Sovereigns be released? Does anybody know what the new Necromancy
cards will be like? What is the release after that, that will contain the Setites?
Can somebodyy send me a copy of the Official Tourny Rules? Can I think of any more
Questions?
Craig
The release date of Dark Sovereigns is Nov. 29th. Necromancy cards will
tend to mess around with the ash heap, as you might imagine. Assamites and
Followers of Set will be in the next expansion.

Presumably Quietus and serpentis will be in this

Without trading, probably a lot. With Jyhad, if you didn't trade, you
needed at least a box for any decent deck (and 2 was better). With Jyhad
you could trade to a good deck with much less, but I don't know if that's
the case with DS.

I purchased ten booster packs and only got FIVE chimestry cards!
How much money does one have to spend to even attempt creating a new deck.
On the other hand, I've now got an Inner Circle member for each
Camarilla clan (that's a capacity 11 vamp w/+2 bleed, 4 votes and other
goodies).

This is one aspect of the game that M:t$ had and Jyhad did not. I liked
the idea of once something was in the ash heap you didn't have to worry
too much about seeing it again (unless they had another copy in their
deck). Hopefully this will not upset the balance too much. (I have seen
magic decks based entirely on manipulation of the graveyard). I guess I
won't know what the cards will be like until they're out and I'm hoping
for the best. :-)

Well I bought 6 packs today, and I was happy with most of them.
There are some though that I think will throw game balance to
those who have bought the new cards. I want to compile a list of
the new cards, but I will not have the money to buy many. So I
was thinking that if everybody sends me e-mail detailing a few
cards, we could have a complete list in a week or two. So either
post the card details here, in a reply to the next message from
me. Or e-mail me at ddmc...@oakland.edu. Hope to hear from you
all.

I just purchased some DS and they are pretty cool but there will be some explaining needed on some
of the cards.(ie. Pack of garou cost 4 3 hand damage, cant be affected by melee wepons:The Renegade
Garou is much better.For 5 you get 1 manuver,2 hand damage,extra strike,and a +1 staealth
attack.)oopps..the RG also regenerates..so why pay 1 less and get hardly nothing..owell

I bought 3 boosters and got 3 Chimestry and 4 Necromancy cards, with a
Chimestry master. Maybe you got unlucky with the distribution....

I'm with you. I don't think there are any rares. Only 3 uncommon (first 3),
4 vampires, and 8 commons per booster.

I went to my local game store and asked if they had Dark Sovereigns and
they thought I didn't know what I was talking about. "Sure it's already
released, they keep saying it will and then don't". You'd think in
Washington state (home of WotC) someone could find some DS in Seattle.

It's a pretty little trio of stained-glass windows, much like the
point-of-purchase display that you may have seen hanging in your local
game shop.
Nice touch that it's in the upper _right_ corner, properly placing it out
of any place that important information needed during play would go. And
kudos to the VTES design team for _finally_ putting discipline symbols on
the discipline master cards!

Just having completed my order of five boxes of DS from a
distributor (or reseller at least), I can say that he said
that he has been surprised by the amount of DS movig.
After a year of OK Jyhad sales which look REALLY BAD in the
light of Mt$ sales, and a few weeks of very light V:TES sales,
I would suspect because new players aren't all that frequent
and we who play Jyhad have more than enough cards.
I get the feeling that everyone who bought Jyhad cards and
is still playing, is getting a box of DS cards.
BTW in two days, I'll be trading DS with anyone who needs it.

I think the line comes as a comprimise from way back when we were fearing that
they would get _WHITE_ borders. Imaging how that would have looked.

I noticed this tonight infact when I put Raven next to Chandler. I'm
curious why the line is not on the DS vampires. A friend suggested that
perhaps the expansion was made before the V:TES cards were, and if so why
did they wait so long to release the expansion? Just something to
consider. I doubt they just forgot to put the line around the vampires,
and I don't see them dropping them so soon after V:TES was released unless
there was complaints. I think I prefer them without the line because the
Jyhad border has a 3-D look to it. I'm just curious why the red line was
not used in DS.

Has anyone else noticed that DS cards look MUCH cooler than the V:TES
cards because they don't have that red line running around the border?
I originaly thought that the new cards looked lame, and I still think that
the V:TES cards do, but the DS cards are much better, and all because they
lost the red border. I hope they keep it off the cards.

Actually, the 2 lower 2 objects are cathedral windows, while the black
circle is (take your pick of):
1> The sun. Our heroes are vampires, the sun is anathema
2> The moon. Our heroes are vampires, and it is always night
3> An eclipse. Our heroes are vampires, the only time they can see the
day is during an eclipse.
4> More stained glass. Circles with your choice of a cross, the virgin
mary, or an ecclesiastical scene are common features of cathedrals.
# 4 is by far the most likely, but hey, it could be any of them. :)

The red line around the VTES cards is what is used to mark them as part of
the unlimited print run. If a DS card is promoted to VTES, it will
also get the line.
All this because white borders would look really lame for VTES ;)

I've got some card of Dark Sovereigns and WOW!
Very powerfull(too much???)
Here come's some example(please, be seated!):
Nikolaus Vermeulen
Nosferatu 7 Prince of Brussels
Fortitude, Obfuscate, Animalism, Sup. Potence
During your untap phase, you may move 1 blood from Nikolaus to any
uncontrolled Nosferatu.
Donal O'Connor
Brujah 8 Prince of Duplin
Sup. Potence, Sup. Celerity, Sup. Dominate
Any vampire blocking Donal burns 1 blood before combat begins.
Arika
Ventrue 11 Inner Circle
Sup. Dominate, Sup. Presence, Sup. Fortitude, Sup. Obfuscate
Celerity, Auspex
+2 Bleed
If Arika ready during your prey's untap phase, your prey chooses
witch locations he or she keeps in play. For each location he or she
controls, your prey burns 1 pool or burns the location.
So, what do you think of the new vamp??

The "Red Line" is the "White Border" from Magic, but since a white border would REALLY
look bad on a Vampire game, they used the Red Line. Cards of an "Unlimited" or "Revised"
print will have the Red Line, whereas cards of a "Limited Print" (such as Jhyad, or DS)
will not. This way, if DS ever gets reprinted or added to a new revision of V:TES, it
will have the Red Line to distinguish it from the rest. (The symbol is not enough - note
that the Chronicles cards from M:tG are white bordered and "unlimited," but still have
the symbols.)
