I look ad at most of the TB articles, but I haven't seen this question
addressed. Forgive me if there was an easier way to find the answer to this
question; I couldn't find any off hand. anyway...
Does the "no card" restriction apply to cards already equipped by the minion,
like a shotgun or flak jacket?

Thoughts Betrayed allows the opposing minon to use cards already in play
(errata), just not to play cards from the hand.

This was actually the first one addressed, and is why it hasn't been discussed
in a while (though eluded to). Almost immediately after the expansion came
out, Tom clarified that the term "use" really should be "play" in the superior
version, meaning that any cards already in play (like shotguns or flak
jackets) can be used... you just can't play cards from your hand.

I'm not to be taken as an authority in the matter, but IMO, since
these equipment cards are already 'in play', they can be used in such a
combat. The TB only prevents the play of combat cards by the opponent.
