Were there any events planned for GenCon Indy this year with the US Championship moving to Origins? http://www.gencon.com/2009/indy/pm/eo-gm/default.aspx March 20 Event Submission Ends The White Wolf event calendar looks naked for August.... http://www.white-wolf.com/events/index.php?month=8&year=2009

[ quoted text not captured ] I spoke with Jake "devilwithcape", the local Indy guy, and he said he had no plans to run any VTES events at this year's GenCon. This is disappointing... I had really hoped to play in events at Gencon this year. I guess I will reconsider my plans now - I would run events myself, but I don't feel I have the proper experience with the game to do this. And I don't know if an event could even be registered at this point - the window is already closed. Sad...

It's been over 10 years since I ran an event at Gencon... hope I don't get the same treatment I did the last time. Better to try than let it slide, I guess... can't play if I run, but it's better than nothing. If the event is accepted, I hope to see some friendly faces. :)

[ quoted text not captured ] Serendipity man, it is an awesome thing. Go look at the recent threads regarding the US champs and GenCon. So ironic that this happes now. And welcome back to THE game..... malk94 still rules. Arika is still the queen of the roost. And the Cam are still overpowered ;)

[ quoted text not captured ] White Wolf will run demos at the booth and tournaments in the gaming area as usual.

Well, I've had contact with the events organizers at Gencon and they mentioned that they don't have events from White Wolf yet, but they expect that WW will send them in eventually. That's good. But it puts me in an awkward position. :/ I don't know whether to cancel my event or not. I asked for an event for up to 64 players (hah!) on Saturday night beginning at 6pm... I would expect to make it a standard format event. Is this likely to conflict with events that White Wolf will run? I'm not the best choice as event organizer - I can hardly be considered a serious, tournament caliber player... but I am very good at running events. After all, I've helped to run national sporting championships ... so, I am sure I could try to pull this off. What do people think... should I keep my event or try to delete it?

Start at 6pm = finish at midnight (assuming no breaks, 2+F). > I'm not the best choice as event organizer - I can hardly be > considered a serious, tournament caliber player... but I am very good > at running events. But a realistic number is probably more like 25 or 30.

Actually, I was expecting 3 rounds of 2 hours each... so it should probably be 7 or 8 hours to allow for time between rounds. I'll think about it... > Keep it. But a realistic number is probably more like 25 or 30. Heck, I guess I'd be surprised if it drew 12. :)

I'm sorry to say I've decided to cancel my event at Gencon. I just don't feel I can run an event with confidence at this point. I do look forward to finding other players at the convention and perhaps enjoying a game or two with them, especially at events that may be organized by White Wolf.
