If anyone is interested, the count is up to 86 days since the last contact from WOTC. Shawn Carnes posted an article on the mailing list to defend his review on the Duelist Online, but I think he is as frustrated with the crappy support as we are (ie, he has other responsibilities that don't allow him to spend the time on vtes that he would like to). [ quoted text not captured ] Could you either repost it here or email it to me? I'm curious to see how anyone in his right mind could defend that pathetic deck. dark...@gis.net -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet

Here's Shawn's response, just to let everyone know where we stand. (It won't surprise anyone, but the feedback is always appreciated.) ----- Begin Shawn F. In response to the message, yes he is correct. That's all that can be said about it--no explanations, no rebuttals. Some of the netizens may not like how I view V:TES and my decisions for the game, and I certainly can say that I don't like some of the attitudes I've seen. I, however, cannot agree more that the support level stinks, and I believe that it won't get any better, as much as I can try. It's all about economics, and the law of the land demands that full fledged support is given to those products that show profit-making potential or have made profit. Note, that this is not a bash of any sort. It's about business, and even with all the love one (or a group of people) can put into a game, a financial bottom line has to be observed. I really wish I could work full-time on V:TES, but even at its height, I had other responsibilities outside of V:TES to manage. Now that the product has been backlisted, I have other things required of my job as a Deckmaster R&D person to do. Do I like the lack of support? No. Is there anything I can do short of revolution or hostile-takeover? Honestly, no. What I can do is find opportunities to support the game wherever I can, like moving Whispers onto the Duelist On-Line. Frankly, it is frustrating. VERY frustrating, but life goes on, and I am thankful I still have a job working on WotC products. My mail box is open to all, as I have said in the past. Sincerely, >>> Shawn F. Do you mean that V:TES hasn't made any profit? I find that hard to believe. Sure, compared to MTG, it must seems ridiculous, but still, I cannot believe that WotC lost money on that game. As it goes, if WotC continue this policy, they will end-up with only one product (I don't believe that Netrunner or Battletech made more money than V:TES). It's sad, but that's what happens when a company loses its soul to become a money-machine. They do not see us as fellow gamers anymore (remember WotC 4 or 5 years ago, before MTG?). We are just consumers, plain and simple, and all they are interested in is our money, period. Gilles
