hi there =) lots of questions about our fellow caitiffs! Mukhtar Bey, prince of Cairo decides to go on progeny. he creates and put in play a 1 cap Caitiff, right ? now smudge decides to go on thin blooded seering. he creates and put in play a 1 cap clanless camarilla, right ? is this thin blooded seer Caitiff too ? (since he's clanless and camarilla, as stated in the rulebook) it's important since i may want to play revelation of the sire on him later to let him become, say, Nagaraja. what if i play diversity if i control ony caitiffs and thin blooded seers ? guess i gain 0 pool ? and if i have one nagaraja and one caitiff ? do i gain 0, 1 or 2 pool ? :) thank you ! reyda

No. Caitiff is a designator that is not inhereted by being clanless and Camarilla. See the parallel with the Great Beast and a Writ of Acceptance. Not gonna happen legally. Sorry. >what if i play diversity if i control ony caitiffs and thin blooded seers ? >guess i gain 0 pool ? Correct. Caitiff are not a clan, and thin-blooded seers are not a clan. You would control 0 unique clans. >and if i have one nagaraja and one caitiff ? >do i gain 0, 1 or 2 pool ? :) You would gain 1 pool. You would control 1 unique clan. LSJ 2004-05-23 http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=nx3sc.52601%24hH.984276%40bgtnsc04-news.ops.worldnet.att.net Carpe noctem. Lasombra http://www.TheLasombra.com

The Caitiff are clanless, but clanless may not indicate Caitiff. I would lean towards yes, though, but IANLSJ. > what if i play diversity if i control ony caitiffs and thin blooded seers ? > guess i gain 0 pool ? Yes. Caitiff is not a clan, and so isn't counted for diversify. > and if i have one nagaraja and one caitiff ? > do i gain 0, 1 or 2 pool ? :) 1. --Colin McGuigan

Caitiff is not a clan. progeny makes a vampire of the same clan as the acting vampire. the acting vampire in this case has no clan. therefore, i'd suggest the progeny is clanless, but not caitiff, and of an indeterminate sect (the default sect for a clanless vampire is...?) salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm (replace "hotmail" with "yahoo" to email) "I like to play the field"-LSJ

and thus my dilemma about this month's newsletter. i'm gonna hold off on Mukhtar Bey, prince of Cairo, because he opens up a huge new can of worms. unlike the pander who have won recognition as a clan within sabbat, the caitiff do not. a wonderful contribution to the caitiff world, but i'm gonna let it sit a while until some of the stuff that you brought up is cleared up. i'm sure there'll be more 'fascinating' combos that'll raise questions - so this guy is just a tad too hot to make heads or tails of for me right now.
