This question is for [LSJ] or anyone else who knows the answer. The Wizards of the Coast Web Site Card List for DS lists a card: Vial of Methuselah Vitae, however most of the other card lists on the net do not list this card. I have the complete set of DS except for this card. I was wondering if the card really exists and if so is it a regular booster card or was it a promo card? According to Eric Cagle at cust...@wizards.com it does exist. However I was informed by someone on this newsgroup that ques...@wizards.com says the card does not exist. If anyone could answer this question I would be very happy. Also if it does exist and anyone has it to trade PLEASE e-mail me. Gary Lee gl...@runet.edu

[ quoted text not captured ] It does not exist. The WotC web site didn't used to list it. (I refer to http://www.wizards.com/Cardlists/VTES/Dark_Sovereigns.txt) From a copy of the file I downloaded in Sep. 1996: ... Ventrue Directorate Assembly Vial of Elder Vitae Vial of Garou Blood Victoria ... But now: ... Ventrue Directorate Assembly Vial of Elder Vitae Vial of Garou Blood Vial of Methuselah Vitae Victoria ... I know of no physical instance of this card, however. It only exists, to the best of my knowledge, in a few lists. It wasn't actually printed. (*) -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. Re: Vial of Methuselah Vitae LSJ answered your question, but I would like to add that it was mentioned in a Duelist (that came out the same time as DS) that this card had got left out of the set, due to error or maybe it was too powerful, I'm not sure which. It was said that it may be put into another expansion. Well, since there aren't any expansions in the works, I guess we'll never see it.

Gary, according to the Duelist (I don't have the magazine right before me so I don't have the issue number but I have the page), it was removed before printing. --- Liam Burke "Only a Malkavian would attack Cthulhu with laughing gas..." -overheard

[ quoted text not captured ] I guess it was ruled as too powerful, just look at the card text on Wizard's site: Vial of Methuselah Vitae 2 pool Equipment Unique equipment. If a vampire is equipped with this Vial, you may burn this card. If the vampire is in combat, the vampire gains 4 blood and all further damage done to the vampire during that combat is prevented; otherwise, he or she only gains 4 blood. Only one Vial of Methuselah Vitae may be played in a game. Richard Thomas Rare For 2 pool and an equip action you make a vampire not only invulnerable in one combat (which would have been bad enough for 2 pool). He/she also gets 4 blood, equals to two rounds of hunting and use of a hunting ground (with exceptions like Inbase Discotek, Aaron's Feeding Razor, Amadeo and The Hungry Coyote). Also with the option to burn it to get 4 blood when not in combat. Just my opinion. -- Home address: Kristofer Wårell E-mail: d95...@sm.luth.se Vänortsvägen 22:44 kriw...@student.luth.se 977 54 LULEÅ to...@ludd.luth.se Phone: 0920/23 27 14 Cellphone: 0705/23 69 97

It is a psycho card, and I'm sure that it should not have been printed. However, what amazes me is not that it could theoretically have been made, but that WotC decided not to print it. Hey-this is the Thoughts Betrayed/Inner Circle expansion. Well, actually, I bet that the reason that they didn't print it would be because it would screw Thoughts Betrayed. I can just see the Black Cat armory deck coming back... -Nathan Harada "Though known to all the world as H.A.R.M., his close friends called him Chuck.
