Hi, 1/ A and B are in combat. A plays Selective Silence sup'. Can A play a Torn Signpost in the same round afterwards? Range is set by Selective Silence, I'm not sure A (or B) can play cards "only usable before range is determined". 2/ A and B are in combat. A plays Immortal Grapple on round 1. When exactly does IG set the range for round 2 ? Is it: a- at the very beginning of the round (or before) ? b- in the usual "before range is determined" window, as an event A can trigger amongst his "before range is determined" effects ? c- instead of the "determine range" window ? If it's a- or b- and that A decides to set the range immediately, can B play Torn Signpost in the second round ? If it's c-, can B play Selective Silence to set the range in round 2 ? (Range can't be re-set, but it hasn't been set yet in this case) Thanks ~~ Immortal Grapple Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Potence Only usable at close range before strikes are chosen. Grapple. [pot] Strikes that are not hand strikes may not be used this round (by either combatant). A vampire may play only one Immortal Grapple each round. [POT] As above, with an optional press. If another round of combat occurs, that round is at close range; skip the determine range step for that round. Selective Silence Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Quietus Only usable on the first round of combat. [qui] Maneuver. [QUI] Only usable before range is determined. This vampire burns 1 blood to set the range for this round. Skip the determine range step this round. Torn Signpost Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Potence Only usable before range is determined. [pot] This vampire has a strength of 2 for the remainder of combat. [POT] This vampire has a strength of 3 for the remainder of combat.

(The "before range" aka "beginning of round" step occurs before the maneuver aka "determine range" step. Many effects can be played in that step. For those of you playing along at home, that's section VI.A of the program http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/HTML/outline.html) > 2/ A and B are in combat. > A plays Immortal Grapple on round 1. > When exactly does IG set the range for round 2 ? > Is it: > a- at the very beginning of the round (or before) ? > b- in the usual "before range is determined" window, as an event A can > trigger amongst his "before range is determined" effects ? > c- instead of the "determine range" window ? a (and c, since c isn't a "when"). > If it's a- or b- and that A decides to set the range immediately, can > B play Torn Signpost in the second round ?
