Well, it has always been possible, but today I actually saw it happen for the first time. Someone was ousted by a 1 pool Vampire Elder Kindred Network. The guy tried to call a vote that would save him, but ended up losing the vote with a tie (8 votes both side). His predator then played VEKN to burn the last pool the guy had left. Damned thing is, I was the guy's grand-predator and probably would have been able to oust my prey on my turn. AND the vote caller. Guys, did a oust by VEKN ever happened before in one of your games? By the way, it was a six player game and four of 'em played Ventrues. There was some contesting, but they each managed to get an uncontested Ventrue Prince out as their first vamps. Weird game that was. Bleu

Is that the order things really happened? Because Elder Kindred Network is supposed to be played before any votes are cast. Just checking... Halcyan 2

The guy tried to You mean "Elder Kindred Network". ("Vampire: Elder Kindred Network" is not a card :-). > call a vote that would save him, but ended up losing the vote with a tie (8 > votes both side). Elder Kindred Network is "Only usable during a <referendum> before any votes are cast.", by card text. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Heh, whatever, it's still the card that gave the name to the VEKN. ;p And many people add Malkavian before Madness Network. >Elder Kindred Network is "Only usable during a <referendum> before >any votes are cast.", by card text. That will teach me to read every card played that I haven't seen played in a game before. Even if I have too many copies of it at home. That'll teach all of us. Fortunately, it was only a friendly game between players who didn't make the final of the Montréal tournament. The question still stands though, how rare an occurance can it be to be ousted by an Elder Kindred Network?

Imagine this: I have an Anarch Revolt and a Ventrue Vote & Bleed deck. The AR get's down my prey to say 4 pool, and he decides to call the vote to burn it. I react with ELK, and vote against...if the referendum is in his favor, I react with Kindred Coersion and reverse a number of vampires votes to my favor. The vote is unsuccesful, and my prey then burns the amount of pool equal to the difference in votes... So this combination of cards can be played quite easily...also with the Elysium, Legendary Vampire etc. Tim PROPHECY OF GEHENNA: On The First Day Of Gehenna The Shrieking Wind Shall Be Silent And When A Black Sun Hangs From A Somber Sky Caine's Sleeping Children Shall Once Again Arise [ quoted text not captured ]

Not rare in Austin. I built a deck called "Wupah!" that uses EKN and Political Backlash to destroy people other than myself calling votes. Several Austin players have since used EKN in some of their Ventrue decks, so we see it every now and then. It's at the Austin Deck archive if you wish to take a look - http://whitestar.ddg.com/thelasombra/austindecks.htm.
