Strike Resolution ?

In a recent JOL game this situation arose. My minion pulled out a zip gun and fired from long range, adding Dragon's Breath Rounds. The opposing vamp struck using theft. Since my vamp only had two blood, the question is which resolves first. Does he take one damage due to the gun and then only one blood is stolen, or does two blood get stolen and then he takes an additional damage sending him to torpor. The card text on Zip gun is as follows: Weapon: Gun May only be brought into play before range is chosen. 1R each strike, with an optional maneuver each combat. Minion with this weapon takes 1 damage during strike resolution, but only once each combat. This card is kept as normal equipment and not discard ed after combat. Let me know what your thoughts are, thanks. Jason

The damage resolves during Strike Resolution so is preventable by, say, Flak Jacket, yeah? And the way combat works is this. You apply the results of a strike so you can prevent damage but you don't burn the blood for the damage yet. So: Declare Strikes: Simultaneous Zip Gun and Theft Apply Strikes: Opponent steal 2 blood (done *now*), You shoot for 1 and take 1 yourself (both have to wait for a while) Prevent Damage: Whatever Resolve Damage: Since steal blood resolves before damage dealt at the same speed (you get the blood during apply strikes), you are on 0 blood. You now apply 1 the 1 damage to each other and he takes 1 damage (burns one of the stolen blood to prevent) and you take 1 damage and are off to torpor. Took me a while, bu try and get hold of a copy of the Rules v. 2.11 which LSJ used to post. It helps you to work things like that out because of the order stuff happens. -- James Coupe (remove some crap to reply) Pah!! I hope it shits in your jogging suit!

Correct, if you add the DBR in the "Apply Strikes:" step (dealing an additional two aggravated to the opponent). > Took me a while, bu try and get hold of a copy of the Rules v. 2.11 > which LSJ used to post.
