A very simple question but one that arises from time to time : when we influence a new vamp, do we legally have to announce his card text (or resume it duly) or is the announcement of his name enough if no one asks any question ? Thanks, Orpheus

[ quoted text not captured ] You announce as much as needs to be announced. If you're unsure of how much needs to be announced, announce everything.

[ quoted text not captured ] Orpheus, While Scott's answer is technically correct (the best kind of correct), I'd like to suggest that you do what I have learned to do over the years, having been playing with some highly sensitive and/or cutthroat players: When you influence to the ready region, quickly announce the Name of the card and read the ENTIRE TEXT, and then move on. I do this for three reasons: 1. It only takes 1-3 seconds. 2. Assuming everyone is there at the table and paying attention, this method gives you the best platform to promote better behavior if a player later tries to put the responsibility of him knowing your cards' text back onto you. 3. I have NEVER had an issue with players when I do this. [ quoted text not captured ] I agree with this, if only because someone will ask their full text in a minute anyway.

Especially since I almost always need to read a card to understand what it does, I don't learn very well aurally. best - chris

[ quoted text not captured ] I agree 100%. I've been blind-sided by more than one crypt card I couldn't read from x-table, so I'll try to make a habit of reading my cards' text out loud and asking to at least read others'. The benefit of the doubt is good; this behavior can only build on that :) Brandon

And maybe 8 years ago I could keep track of what powers a vampire had based solely on its name but those days are now a very distant memory. We're all getting older you know? Not to mention the explosion of the number of vampires since that time. Including final nights we had some 500 vampires, we're now at 1300+ crypt cards. Now I feel old. John P

[ quoted text not captured ] I generally do the following: 1) Name the vampire 2) Check to see if there are any "Huh?" or "Ummm..." or "Thinking" Faces around the table... if so, read the text. 3) If someone asks, I hand them the card for them to read and wait until they're done before having the game continue. Hey I can't remember stuff often and with a few of my recent decks running entirely on the card text of vampires, it is an important thing to do and to be willing to do all three.
