I've got a few questions here that came up the last time the : group I play with went at it: : 1)If a Giants Blood gets Sudden Reversal'd can another GB be played : later in the game? No. SR does not retroactively "erase" the playing of the card; it just burns it as it is played. : 2)If range is determined to be ranged in a round, and then I play a : Blur with superior celerity, does the range stay at long for all : 3 strikes, so I could essentially throw 3 sewer lids? Yes. Range stays the same for each round, but only for each round. If you pressed, you start off at short range again. : 3)How does the superior Cloak the Gathering work? The text on the : card reads as follows: : Only usable by a vampire other than an acting minion : you control to give that minion +1 stealth. Does not : tap the playing vampire. : So, do you use it to give someone else's minion +1 stealth, or : does it give a different minion you control +1 stealth? "acting minion" refers to whichever minion is currently taking an action. This card may be played by ANOTHER minion (who isn't taking an action, but is untapped) to give your ACTING minion +1 stealth. So if Lucretia, Lucian, and Democritus are all untapped, and Democritus tries to bleed, Lucretia and Lucian can both play a CtG to give Democritus a net +2 stealth on his current action. -- Meow!

Hello there. Let's see if I can take this quiz correctly... In article <3lg15n$1...@cerberus-138.wustl.edu>, rhodesc@medicine (Chris Rhodes) writes: > > >Hey. I've got a few questions here that came up the last time the >group I play with went at it: > >1)If a Giants Blood gets Sudden Reversal'd can another GB be played > later in the game? \\ If the Sudden Reversal stops a master from being brought into play, then the GB was never really played so yes you would be able toplay another one later in the game. If the Sudden Reversal burns a master already in play before effects are felt, then no more GB's for you. My problem is that I do not have my cards with me so I cannot remember the exact wording of the Sudden Reversal right now. > >2)If range is determined to be ranged in a round, and then I play a > Blur with superior celerity, does the range stay at long for all > 3 strikes, so I could essentially throw 3 sewer lids? > Range is determined before strike phase, so if you went to long and then played blur, you would get three strikes at long range. What I am unsure of is the three thrown sewer lids... I think you can only play one strike card of a particular type in a combat round. You might be able to throw a sewer lid, a gate, and car... ouch, that just looks painful. :o >3)How does the superior Cloak the Gathering work? The text on the > card reads as follows: > > Only usable by a vampire other than an acting minion > you control to give that minion +1 stealth. The Cloak the GAthering card is played by the other vampire, but does not tap the other vampire. Your acting minion then gains +1 stealth. > So, do you use it to give someone else's minion +1 stealth, or > does it give a different minion you control +1 stealth? The second choice there. > >Any help would be greatly appreciated... > >chris > Well, there you go, Chris. But I must remind you that I am only a player and not too conversant with all that has been posted by WotC or other players. I am pretty certain that these interpretations are correct though. My problem is that I do not > have my cards with me so I cannot remember the exact wording of the Sudden > Reversal right now. Peace Cliff, Ennnhh! Wrong answer. The GB is considered played even if SRd. > >2)If range is determined to be ranged in a round, and then I play a > > Blur with superior celerity, does the range stay at long for all > > 3 strikes, so I could essentially throw 3 sewer lids? > > > Range is determined before strike phase, so if you went to long and then played > blur, you would get three strikes at long range. Also, any number of non-acting vampires may play a CtG (one each), as the limit is one action mod per minion per action, not simply one per action. L. Scott

Peace Scott, Are you sure about that? Has that been ruled on? That doesn't seem right, to me. [ quoted text not captured ]

Quite sure: DTR (11/9/94): >Cloak the Gathering: > Its superior ability can be used to aid another minion even while the > modifying vampire is tapped. And, nothing in the rules says anything about being untapped to play ActMod, since that would preclude the Acting Vampire from ever playing one :-).
