Question 1. Two vampires entering combat. Vampire A with Sup Potence throws down an Increased strength and a Torn sign. Does Vampire A do: a) 3 + 2 =5 points or b) 3 + 0 =3 points (because Torn was not a strike). Question 2. Vampire A throws down a Torn Sign post in the first round of combat. Presses and (draws Increased Strength) throws down Increased Strength at the begining of Round 2. Does the Increased strength increase Torn Sign Post's affects?? Thanks. Cheers George

The answer is no in both situations, but because of the wording of Increased Strength. Increased Strength only adds damage to strikes that require Potence, and while Torn Signpost is a Potence card, it is not a strike that requires potence. If you hit someone with your hand that happens to do 3 damage due to a previously played Torn Signpost, you are not using a strike that requires Potence. Increased Strength only works if you strike with a Strike card that requires Potence. If you had played both Torn Signpost and Increased Strength at the begining of the round and then used Undead Strength as your strike, you would hit for 7 (TS sets hand damage at 3, US is strike with hand at +2, IS adds 2 to your US strike), but if you just use a basic hand strike, you will only hit for 3 (TS gives you 3 hand damage, but the IS doesn't help because a hand strike is not a strike that requires Potence). Increased Strength, on the other hand, has an advantage over both Torn Signpost and Fists of Death, in that it works with Potence strikes that are not hand strikes, like Well Aimed Car and Thrown Gate. Some crafty Brujah could play Increased Strength at the begining of a round, manuver to long range, throw a gate for 4, and then Blur and throw 2 more gates for 4 each. Urk. Vamp A could use a strike (Undead Strength), and gain the benefit of both Increased strength and Torn sign: c) 3 (Torn Sign) +2 (Undead Strength) + 2 (Increased Strength) = 7 >Question 2. Does the Increased strength >increase Torn Sign Post's affects?? Again, only if the combo is used with a potence strike (growing fury, e.g.) -- L. No, although play a Strike card that adds to hand damage and then Increased strength has an effect. Rory
