This poor weapon has been seriously cheated in the game of Jyhad. Flamethrowers cost four blood and only do 2 agg. damage. That's not scary enough to even warrant being in the game. WotC should right a gross injustice and pump the FT up to for agg in the revised set. Then it would be worth what it costs.

[ quoted text not captured ] I disagree. So there. Nah. Actually I think its about right. Ever seen Dollface with a Thrower? That's what I thought, that is scary enough. I think WotC did an all around great job on the game, except for that Blood Puppy thing... rare card?... whatever... g-out.

That's not scary you should see muddles the vampire hunter with the flame thrower, thats go to torpour with first strike.....and as far as we can tell thats before strike to dodge comes into effect.....burn burn yes youre gonna burn Hugh

In article <3c8bs9$p...@charm.magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu>, [ quoted text not captured ] The submachine gun costs 4 blood also and does 3 damage/strike + manuever. The flamethrower costs 4 blood, does 2 aggravated damage/strike and thats all. If you think about it that is actually quite fair. 2 aggravated damage does 1 point of damage and puts the vampire into torpor. It costs 2 blood(usually) to get out of torpor, thus it in effect costs the vampire(or the vampire's of the methusalah who controls the flamed vampire) 3 blood. Also, There is the chance of burning the vampire(destroying it without the risk of diablerie) that is the only weapon that can destroy a vampire by itself(that I know of at least, haven't seen ivory bow or any of those things) To actually get the vampire out of torpor costs the vamp's methusalah an extra action, the submachine gun gets a manuever and thats all. All in all, the flamethrower is pretty decent(now if you have ir goggles, it ROCKS, but thats a different story). -josh

It got Illegally Searched and Siezed. Of course, what cop in his right mind *wouldn't* arrest a maniac on a motorcycle riding around with a flame thrower and muttering about vampires? :-) | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | js...@vt.edu | ** csi...@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "Carnivores, oy!" -- Timon, TLK

"Hunter always strikes with First Strike." That means he always gets first strike, whether using his "hand" strike or a weapon. Tom Wylie rec.games.trading-cards.* Network Representative for aa...@hal.com Wizards of the Coast, Inc.

Yes, it's sick, but I equipped a Renegade Garou with a Flamethrower once. It cost me the game as the combo cost 9 blood to put out. But it's horrible. Garou can basically bum rush any vampire (with the optional maneuver) and with a Flamethrower?... Two words: Torpor City. Make sure you have a Sudden Reversal in hand if you're going to attempt this, as you're bound to get Illegal-Search-and- Seizure'd. Expensive but it was fun. K!z!K

[ quoted text not captured ] I am going to have to agree with Greg on this one. Flamethrower is expensive because vampires and fire don't mix very well. If you think flamethrower is too expensive, what do you think of Lupo on a sport bike with a flamethrower... Hmm, Your opponent's vampire goes to hunt. Lupo speeds by on his sport bike with a roasty shot from the flamer, and there goes that hunting vampire off to torpor. Gee, hope they had some blood on them, or that vampire is nothing more than a crisp, grey dust blowing on the sidewalk. And Lupo speeds off to find other burn victims, with his buddy the Renegade Garou sitting on the back of the bike. Now, R.G. is a card that has the wrong summoning cost, it is way too low for the destructive power. You have votes, I have my vote controllers, the Garou. Because...How can you vote if all your vampires keep getting killed? Slash and Burn, Chris

On a slight tangent... Am I the only one who thinks that a Muddled Vampire Hunter with a Flame Thrower is extremely scary? [especially if he's also armed with a Flak Jacket (or 2? :) and Fake Outs, just in case... :] -- * Check out this URL for some links I like to use. * * http://www.cfn.cs.dal.ca/~aa343/Profile.html *

However, a renegade garou with a assault rifle would kick some butt...8 damage a round with 2 optional manuevers(1 from garou, 1 from rifle).

[ quoted text not captured ] I think he's scary enough with a .44 Magnum :) That 4 damage is suddenly ranged, and the garou gets 2 maneuvers to _keep_ it ranged. Do keep a Dodge handy (or give it a Flak Jacket) if you're fighting someone with Potence -- those thrown sewer lids are nassty. -- Richard Braakman "Power is the link between dream and reality" -- Richard Braakman "Power is the link between dream and reality"
