Considering the new aggro rules, what happens when a vampire takes aggro damage outside of combat? Especially: Is a vamp with 1 blood, using Force of Will, burned at the end of the action, or does he simply go into torpor with 1 point of unhealed aggravated damage (suppose that the action remained unblocked)? Should be handled just like reg'lar damage modulo playing combat cards, as far as I know >Especially: Is a vamp with 1 blood, using Force of Will, burned at the >end of the action, or does he simply go into torpor with 1 point of >unhealed aggravated damage (suppose that the action remained unblocked)? The latter -- action succeeds, 1 blood is spent (vampire now empty), 1 point agg inflicted, vampire goes to torpor empty. Assuming superior FoW, that is. At inferior, the monkey is toast. Again: Burning requires X+2 damage, at least one of which must be agg, where X is the amount of blood on the vampire. gomi

The damage happens after the action is concluded, so it would happen after the cost as far as I see it. So, the cost is paid (1 blood) so the vampire is at 0 blood. The vampire takes 1 aggravated damage which is unhealable and goes to torpor. The vampire takes the 2nd point of aggravated damage, has already had some unhealable damage dealt to it and has no blood left, so is burned, like a vampire with 0 blood would normally be if it took two points of aggravated damage. -- James Coupe (Prince of Mercia) Change nospam to obeah to reply Vampire: Elder Kindred Network http://madnessnetwork.hexagon.net

The absence of combat makes no difference in how the damage is handled - only in what cards can be played. > Especially: Is a vamp with 1 blood, using Force of Will, burned at the > end of the action, or does he simply go into torpor with 1 point of > unhealed aggravated damage (suppose that the action remained unblocked)? Assuming: unblocked action. FoW: cost 1 blood. The vampire is empty when he pays that cost (and before FoW deals any damage to him). Then (inferior): the vampire takes two aggravated damage. The first wounds him (that is, it cannot be healed, so it is not healed). The second point burns him (since he is wounded already). He has 0 blood and takes 0+2 damage, at least one of which is aggravated, so he is burned. or (superior): the vampire takes one aggravated damage and goes to torpor. -- L.
