Hello, I was taking a look at the new cardlist on the WW site, and I noticed that, besides the usual rarities (C, U, V, R2, R and the four preconstructed PB, PM, PTr, PTz), Third edition cards have a new rarity denoted as "DB". What is "DB" rarity? Initially, I thought it stood for something like "double" (i.e. "in one preconstructed and in the player's kit"). This seems to work pretty well for the following vampires [I denote in brackets the "experimental" rarity based on having seen 3 boxes of boosters, 1 of starters and 1 player's kit; notice that all of the vampries below appear in the player's kit as well]: Alessandro Garcia (PB) Apache Jones (PM2) Armin Brenner (PB2) Beauregard Kroller (PM2) Bloodfeud (PM) Duality (PTz) Esoara (PTr2) Father Juan Carlos (PB2) Frondator (PTr) Janine (PTr) Lady Zara Slatikov (PTz2) Laika (PTz2) Lucubratio (PTr2) Paul Cordwood (PTr2) Persephone Tar-Annis (PM2) Radu Bistri (PTz2) Smash (PB) Urraca (PB2) Uta Kovacs (PTr2) White Lily (PM) Yuri Kerezenski (PTz2) However, there are a few "DB" rarity vampires which do not seem to match the above, namely [again with "experimental" rarity in brackets]: Axel Von Anders (V) Fabrizia Contreraz (V) Ilias cel Frumos (V) Moreover, some other vampires are denoted with "V" rarity while they should have the following (or "DB"? Again, all of them appear in the player's kit as well): Count Vladimir Rustovitch (PTz) Harold Zettler, Pentex Director (PM) Hektor (PB2) I hope all this can be of some utility in order to fix the card list in some appropriate way. In my opinion, it would be nicer if there were no "DB" rarities, but only the rarities we are used to (and I also would not mind an additional "PK" rarity to indicate that a card is to be found in the player's kit as well). Ah, one last thing... On the Library side, Dogs of War has a rarity of "U", but I guess it should be "U/PB" (or, as far as I know, "PB" only, since in 3 boxes of boosters I haven't seen any - but after all I haven't seen any DI, Helicopter, Auto-da-fè, Command, Cryptic Rider, Demonstration and many others - but this is another story...) Cheers, Emiliano

I got 1 dogs of war from a booster box, so it does exist ;-) [ quoted text not captured ]

It's a placeholder I was using. It shouldn't have appeared in the published list (being replaced with the actual rarity). I'll correct that ASAP.

[ quoted text not captured ] Probably not. They're not all that useful in such a document, since the only time they matter is when you're looking at the actual card.

(e.g. if we later find that a draft card needs errata somehow) Having them in a separate document would be fine, though. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D YOU ARE IN ERROR. Well, what makes the CSV document useful to me is that it has all the updated card text for all my old cards. Since there's an erratum for one draft effect already, it seems it would also be useful to have most up to date draft effect text in there as well. Ross Ridge

Listing Draftferiors with the actual card text would make the draftferior into the official MRP. And that's just not the case. Besides, there are versions of the same card with and without draftferior even in the same set.

[ quoted text not captured ] Thanks a lot! I'll leave the "draftferior" issue to others, but... Any chance we will have a "player's kit" rarity indicated as well? One of the useful things of the official cardlist has always been that it allows to know where one can find a specific card (which is particularly useful e.g. if one keeps the collection ordered by expansion, which is something I used to do some time ago). Best, Emiliano

Being a subset of the precons, I hadn't considered it all that useful. But OK. I'll queue it up. > One of the > useful things of the official cardlist has always been that it > allows to know where one can find a specific card (which is > particularly useful e.g. if one keeps the collection ordered by > expansion, which is something I used to do some time ago). Well, if that's all, the current list suffices, since the PK cards are all found listed in Third:P* groups anyway. :-)

Are the cards from the Player's Kit(other than those four main vampires) marked as different cards from the normal cards(by some text for example)? If so having their number of appearances in PK would matter to those die-hard collectors who want to have every DISTINCT card printed (sorry for them, 3rd ED gave the two new sets to collect). Without additional info, I might be led to believe that there is a War Ghoul waiting for me in the player's kit ;-) Best, Emiliano

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Perhaps, but the issue above was "determine which expansion(s) printed the card" so as to find the card in a collection sorted by expansion.
