Came up in a game the other day. Can a Blood Sweat (Strike 2R Damage,
Damage can not be prevented) overcome a dodge? The disagreement
seems to stem on the fact that the rule book says that a dodge prevents
the effects of a strike. ^^^^^^^^
... and since Blood Sweat can not be prevented...
So?

I'm afraid a Dodge will work just fine; by 'prevention' they mean fortitude,
flak jackets, and the like. To phrase it a little differently, a Dodge
prevents the strike from ever landing (or resolving), while damage prevention
kicks in after the strike has landed (and resolves).
Make sense?

Yes, the dodge will win. Blood Sweat says the damage cannot be prevented,
it says nothing about not preventing the strike.
(You have to deal the damage before it can be prevented - which in this
case it can't - but you still have to inflict it).

Combat ends and Strike:Dodge both will prevent the strike from
landing. This card refers to damage prevention which is fortitude
(typically) and a few other cards such as sideslip.
