Votes: The way our group used to play them was like this: each player can burn a vote card from his hand to gain a vote, if he burn 7 votes from his hand then he get 7 extra votes. Is this still the way votes are played? Combat: My opponent move away with the maneuver of his gun, we come back at close range as I play a meneuver card. I play Immortal Grapple, now we only use hand strikes. As he used the maneuver of his gun he must use the gun as his strike for this round, as a gun is no hand strike he get NO strike this round. Is it still the way it is played? I use a gun, I get far and shoot my opponent. I have 2 additional strikes this round. For those 2 extra strikes must I use the gun or am I allowed to use other strikes? There is a battle, it's my turn and my vampire was blocked. I choose to play a strike and put it FACEDOWN on the table. My opponent choose to strike too, he put his strike FACEDOWN on the table. Then we reveal our strikes and our strikes resolve. Is this the correct way to resolve our strikes?

Is this still the way votes are played?" For every Political Action card you burn, you get the number of votes it says it's worth in the text (which is, to my knowledge, always 1). So, burn 7, gain 7 votes. " Combat: ...As he used the maneuver of his gun he must use the gun as his strike for this round, as a gun is no hand strike he get NO strike this round. Is it still the way it is played?" The gun must still be used, but cannot, so there is no strike. "I use a gun, I get far and shoot my opponent. I have 2 additional strikes this round. For those 2 extra strikes must I use the gun or am I allowed to use other strikes?" Any strike you want. "There is a battle, it's my turn and my vampire was blocked. Is this the correct way to resolve our strikes?" Maybe for Rage. For Vampire the acting minion announces strike, then the blocking. Damage is resolved at the same time. Hey, guys, I'm right, right? No. Because of abuse from some decks, the rules regarding this are currently as follows: During each political action referendum (and also Blood Hunt referendums), each Methuselah is alowed to gain exactly *one* vote from political action cards. If you call Kine Resources Contested, that gives you one vote so, as the acting Methuselah, you may play no more political action cards on that referendum. Every other Methuselah may play *one*. However, if you called a vote to burn the Elysium, since that does not come from a political action card, you may play one on the vote, as may all other Methuselahs. Note that *all* cards you play during the referendum cannot be replaced until the end of it. (So, as a reating Methuselah, no sneakily playing a political action card for a vote, redrawing it, and getting a Dread Gaze and playing that too, or the other way around.) This way gives more emphasis to presence, titles, locations and the edge, rather than seeing who can empty their hand onto the table. > > Combat: > My opponent move away with the maneuver of his gun, we come back at close > range as I play a meneuver card. Then we reveal our > strikes and our strikes resolve. > Is this the correct way to resolve our strikes? > No. All card in V:TES, at all times, are played face up. However, you *do* play first, and the defending Methuselah plays his second. this gives a slight edge to the defending Methuselah. If you want to get that edge back, consider putting cards like Primal Instincts into your deck (so yuo can cancel your own strike and replay another). There is a celerity card that forces the defending Methuselah to play first, too. -- James Coupe | PGP Key 0x5D623D5D "I know my ex-boyfriend lies. Oh, he does it every time. Oh, yeah. I forgot completely about that errata <grrrr>. :) No one in my group really has every tried the ol' toss out a handful of votes every referrendum. > > Hey, guys, I'm right, right? So, burn 7, gain 7 votes. Well, they always say 1, and you always gain one for each one that you play/burn, but each Methuselah is limited to only one vote from PA cards, by the rules (section 6.3.3.1) > " Combat: > ...As he used the maneuver of his gun he must use the gun as his > strike for this round, as a gun is no hand strike he get NO strike > this round.
