Majesty ends combat with higher priority than other strikes. That part we understand. What happens to complicated strikes when it's the blocking minion that plays majesty? Case 1: Lydia attempts to bleed and gets blocked by Anson. Lydia pulls a Zip Gun, uses its maneuver and shoots. Anson ends combat with Majesty. The combat ends before Anson takes damage, but what happens to Lydia and the Zip Gun? (a) Lydia takes damage from her shoddy weapon (b) Lydia keeps the gun, but takes no damage (c) The gun returns to Lydia's controller (The actual game play was worse. Lydia had prematurely declared that the gun was loaded with Dragon Breath Rounds, so we got to argue about that, too...until we read DBR and the rulebook. They went back into the methuselah's hand.) Case 2: As above, but Lydia pays one blood to strike with Blood Fury instead. What happens to the Blood Fury card and that one blood when Anson ends combat with Majesty? (a) the blood is payed and the card is burned, having had no effect. (b) the card is burned, but as the strike didn't have any effect, Lydia gets her one blood back. (c) the blood is returned to Lydia and the card to her controller. You can easily think up more complex situations with concealed weapons or whatever. Mike Moore

This will preclude and damage-dealing in the round, but not reverse what amounts to an "equip" auto-action. >(The actual game play was worse. (a) you may use any strike, including one that you pay for. Once paid for, that's your strike. If it doesn't deal damage (or go off, whichever), tough. >You can easily think up more complex situations with concealed weapons or >whatever. Majesty = immediate end to combat. No more strikes (Blur, etc.) no stealing weapons, no damage from a drawn-out beast(superior), no damage from a Wolf Companion nor Murder of Crows, no nothing. Just don't reverse anything that's been (legally) played. L. Scott >Mike Moore

The gun came out in play before strikes were declared, therefore it stays in play. No damage occurs because no damage is ever inflicted when Combat Ends. > (c) The gun returns to Lydia's controller No. The gun was in play before the strikes. >(The actual game play was worse. Cards played as part of a strike (even prematurely) are used when the strike is declared. Combat Ends just means that the damage won't take effect. Taking the card back would not have been allowed in our group. >Case 2: As above, but Lydia pays one blood to strike with Blood Fury >instead. What happens to the Blood Fury card and that one blood when Anson >ends combat with Majesty? > (a) the blood is payed and the card is burned, having had no effect. Yes. You did your strike -- it just has no effect. Why do you still have to pay the blood? 7.2 Cost of Playing Cards: "The number in the drop is the cost in blood counters that you must pay to the blood bank in order to play that card." Playing a card is defined as "placing it in the playing area", so in order to move the card from the hand to the table (as your strike) you had to pay the cost. > (b) the card is burned, but as the strike didn't have any effect, > Lydia gets her one blood back. > (c) the blood is returned to Lydia and the card to her controller. >You can easily think up more complex situations with concealed weapons or >whatever. And the rule of thumb is: play the combat by the numbers -- don't skip phases because you are excited (conquer the beast within) and make the acting minion play their cards first. Regarding the concealed weapons and such, this is a pre-strike action. Disguised weapon (superior) can be played during the strike. Again the strike occurs, but no damage or effects will result from it, but cards used or brought into play stay in play.. >Mike Moore Dale Hurtt dhu...@tanis.ess.harris.com

Taking the card back would not have been allowed in our group. Read the text to DBR -- it says something to the effect of "Play when damage is resolved." Majesty ends combat before that phase occurs.
