LSJ and All - This question has been tearing up our play-group. If my minion is equipped with 2 ghoul retainers and one .44 magnum, then it is said that the following happens: My minion strike hands, GR1 does 2R with the .44 magnum. GR2 does 2R with the .44 magnum. For a total of 5 points of damage coming at the opposing minion. If the above is correct, then is it true that if the same minion is instead equipped with a grenade, then my minion runs to long, then GR1 does 3R, and GR2 does 3R. Is this correct? To make it a little more gross, if my minion is equipped with 8 ghoul retainers and one grenade, then can he do 24 points of undodgeable damage as well as whatever other damage he may be doing? Counter-intuitive, but not adeptly explained by the rules (the only "out" I could think of was that indeed each GR could use the equipment, but the first use of it burns it - but this is only tenuously upheld by card text). We spend about 30 minutes each night arguing this point, and it never gets resolved. Thanks, Chris (who still does not find time to read this newsgroup regularly...) -- Chris, Tammy and Alex ino...@ix.netcom.com "It was Thursday, November 19th. That meant have a baby at the Martin/Shorb residence... On the whole, Chris reflected, it couldn't have been a heck of a lot better." Castellino

Curiously, the posts from MAR-1995 to DEC-1995 no longer appear on DejaNews for some reason, so I've included the post from Tom below: ----- From: aa...@cats.ucsc.edu (Thomas R Wylie) Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad Subject: Re: Tom: Multiple Card play Questions Date: 24 Sep 1995 01:21:20 GMT Message-ID: <442bqg$b...@darkstar.UCSC.EDU> L. The latter is a case of not wishing to override what is in the rulebook. If the rulebook had been silent on the issue, we would have ruled as intended. In the case of two Ghouls using the same weapon, the rulebook is silent on whether you can or can't do it, so by default you can. I'm not sure that it's worth adding a rule. ----- > If the above is correct, then is it true that if the same > minion is instead equipped with a grenade, then my minion > runs to long, then GR1 does 3R, and GR2 does 3R. To make it a little more gross, if my minion is Yes, since the grenade is not burned until after "use", and the uses you describe are all simultaneous. > equipped with 8 ghoul retainers and one grenade, then can he > do 24 points of undodgeable damage as well as whatever other > damage he may be doing? Counter-intuitive, but not adeptly Yes. Of course, the 8 Ghouls cost him 16 pool and 8 actions. > explained by the rules (the only "out" I could think of was > that indeed each GR could use the equipment, but the first > use of it burns it - but this is only tenuously upheld by > card text). It isn't burned until after the use, and the 8 uses are simultaneous. Note that card text *does* prevent more than one ghoul from using a sawed-off shotgun, however, since it can only be used once. > We spend about 30 minutes each night arguing this point, and > it never gets resolved. > > Thanks, > > Chris > (who still does not find time to read this newsgroup > regularly...) On the subject of Ghoul Retainers: say a vampire has a GR and a .44 Magnum. If the maneuver from the .44 is used to go to long range, must the vampire strike with the gun (or is it enough for the GR to use the gun)? //Petri

[ quoted text not captured ] The vampire must strikes with the gun. Rulebook: 6.4.2. Determine Range If a minion uses the maneuver from a strike card or a weapon, he is effectively choosing his strike as well. 6.4.3. Strike 1. Choose Strike If a minion has used a maneuver from a strike (either a strike card or a weapon) this round, then he cannot choose any other strike for his initial strike of the round.
