correct?
I play in a non-English meta, and none of the players agree with me
thast Donal's effect is unlike Cam Exemp or Archon.
I know you do not burn for blocking Donal, but need official
confirmation please from the big guy.

The "before combat begins" is a huge context clue that
you only burn blood when the block is successful.
