Arika and Contested Locations

I control Arika. My prey has a location that had been contested, but since my last untap phase, had been relinquished by the other contesting meth. During my next untap phase, will my prey have to pay for or lose that location? Or do I have to wait until my following turn after my prey has fully gained control of said location? You'll have to wait until your prey controls the location, which isn't until her next untap. The location is still in a "contested" state until then. -- L.
