SPORE

in this example, i have una, with the eye of hazimel, clan impersonated to tremere, and the ankara citadel. the card i want to use is hidden strength, which has x as its cost. let's say some big mf like the beast hits me for 10 (with his +1 str, and an undead strength after tossing 3 increased strengths.) can i use the math to my best advantage? if i say x is 9 (to prevent all 10 damage,) and i figure it one way, the eye subtracts 1 from a combat card's cost, una's special subtracts 1 from a fortitude card's cost, taking us to x=7, and half that rounding down is 3, for the citadel. but if i halve the cost first, x/2 rounded down is 4, then i subtract 1 twice for the other 2 reductions, and i only end up paying 2... there doesn't seem to be any clarification i've found stating that the subtractions would come before the halving, and regular math would vary according to the parentheses. hoping for the cornercase math of the week award, john spore (x-1-1)/2 (x/2)-1-1
