Maybe 1 or 2 ani/pro guys as well, since being able to do Shattering with a weenie, or Hell-for-Leather/Claws if blocked, would be nice - better than Grapple/Lam Into/Diversion, IMHO. Oh, I did miss the Rutor's, and the possibility of Agent of Power/ Clotho's Gift, but I'm still not sure it's enough untap to be able to reliably deflect...

Chris Berger

[ quoted text not captured ] Actually, ignore the whole thing about untap, because I looked for Crimethinq and just didn't see it, even though it's there! Doh! Idiot! I'd still want more dom weenies so Ian can act more and not necessarily end the turn untapped. Also, the Crimethinqs can't be used on that many actions in the deck...

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] It won it's first game by taking out its prey who was playing Guhuri Crypt Machine, not once but twice (had ira down to 1 pool). I was able to consistantly get Immortal Grapple/Lam Into/Claws of the Dead to torpor vampires so I was able to play Hell-for-Leather at Obtenebration for pool loss. I ended up going head to head with a Quietus anarch rush deck in the endgame and was able to beat it. Twas quite fun.

[ quoted text not captured ] Ian Forestal is the penultimate anarch, really makes me wish I had more group 2 vampires! I like the Ian + Lamb Into combo, it's good for what ails you! Brandon

[ quoted text not captured ] Needs Garibaldi-Meucci Museum and a Reformation. If you want recursion try 7x Gear Up, 3x Sudario Refraction and some Giovanni instead of Ashur Tablets. Two Conditionings couldn't hurt either.

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] The blood cost on Gear Up is too much to bear for Ian. Ashur Tablets worked just fine. I had them go off twice in the game. Conditioning is a good add as always, I spent a total of 19 pool to get my entire crypt into play. Lam Into and Uriah Winter is strong. I am not sold on Garibaldi-Meucci Museum i a rush deck. Also Agent of Power and Anarchs is really really strong, it's almost like having a second Ian on the table.

How would you offset the two pool swing between a Ashur Tablet and a Garibaldi-Meucci recursion? FYI, getting 12 cards back into my deck was really really strong for this deck. At the end of the game I was at 40 cards left in my library which means that after using 2 sets of ashur tablet I would have been down to about 16 cards left in my library. This may not seem bad, but for a deck that rushes constantly it means that I would have almost no combat cards left to play.

Blooded Sand

[ quoted text not captured ] Norm, i think i am actually gonna copy one of your decks. this seems fun, workable, and interesting. yay! any tips on how to play it?

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] Don't rush your prey's main player. Pick off his support goons. Obviously, diaberize if you can get away with it.

Blooded Sand

[ quoted text not captured ] If you play diversion first, can you play Hell for leather at cel as a second additional strike source after the strike from diversion?

XZealot

[ quoted text not captured ] you can play it in either order at cel as Hell-for-Leather doesn't count. [cel] Additional strike (that doesn't count against the limit).

Chris Berger

[ quoted text not captured ] Exactly. Contrast with the card text of Conditioning and Command of the Beast, to see why the order matters in that case.
