OK - Here's one of a series for the Rule Lords;
Rotschrek Card Text: Play when a minion attempts to use aggravated
damage against a vampire, whether successfully or not. Combat ends
before damage is resolved. That vampire is put in torpor, tapped, with
this card on it. During the vampire's next untap phase, burn this card
instead of untapping the vampire.
I know a Methesulah can Rotschrek on a Pulled Fangs or other card
where agg damage is inflicted on an OPPOSING minion from the RTR
961113 ("can be played in response to agg damage done by none-strike
cards.")
But what if that agg damage is done to the ACTING minion ONLY as a
result of an action (Rutor's Hand) or a modifier (Daring the Dawn)?
My play group had a spirited discussion on this topic last night - and
the guy facing the Rots was vehement that it could only be played in
response to cards doing damage to opposing minions, and/or in response
to combat cards. I felt that he could have been Rots bait, especially
in light of the fact that one can now use combat cards to prevent
damage outside of combat - so why not use Rots (a pseudo-combat card)
outside of combat?
What's the consensus?
