We have already found out that you can "beat" the "do not replace this card" disadvantage of the Gehenna cards by having in play a visit from the Capuchin when you play such a card. But can you play e.g. a Dragonbound then in a given combat play aura reading supperior to return after combat to 7 hand size ? i would say no, because the do not replace counts against your handsize. So, when you play aura reading supperior you go to handsize 9 and after combat you discard down to your maximum handsize which is 6 as modified by Dragonbound, right ? I am quite certain that you can't overcome the do not replace with aura reading, but a friend of mine who doesn't use internet is insisting to ask.

Aura Reading superior gives +2 hand size. So: 7 -1 for DNR Dragonbound +2 for Aura Reading = 8. When combat ends, it's just 7 -1 for DNR Dragonbound = 6. > I am quite certain that you can't overcome the do not replace with > aura reading, but a friend of mine who doesn't use internet is > insisting to ask. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. I'm mean, I'm not saying it shouldn't, I just don't really understand why Vist circumvents the Event hand size. Right. Hand size 7. You play Dragonbound (-1). Hand size 6. You play Visit (+4). Hand size 10. You play 4 cards, burning 4 Visit counters. Visit is burned. Your hand size is back to 6. I'm confused. Play Visit. Hand size 11. Play Computer Hacking (for example). Hand size 10. Play Dragonbound. Hand size 9. Neither the Hack nor the Dragonbound are ever replaced. This effect overrides any other "do not replace" effect. Matt Morgan

So Visit gets out around the "don't replace" action if you have Visit in play and *then* you put Dragonbound into play. Not the other way around. That seems reasonable. Check. My Count Germaine/Assault Rifle deck has two Visits and two Dragonbound. The combo happens fairly regularly, but I do wonder if I wouldn't be better off making the Visits into Dreams and just living with a hand size of six (eight while Dreaming). There's nothing worse than playing Visit and drawing four cards I don't need. Now I need to somehow play or ditch five cards in order to draw some more. Lame. I've also dropped Dragonbound to force an oust a couple of times even though I was Visit-less. It's totally worth it. Hand size of six isn't that crippling in an Assault Rifle deck. Either somebody has a trump or I own the table. Matt Morgan

You play a govern the unaligned, you don't replace it and you now have 10 hand size, you play a dragonbound, you do not replace it as both the visit and dragonbound say and you now have 9 hand size, after playing the next 2 cards, your hand size is 7, the visit is burned and you have a hand size of 7.

So you would play once it reaches your hand, instead of holding the dragonbound/visit (reducing effectively your HS by 1, while you wait for the right moment for the other card to arrive). Even worst: The turn you play the visit you are unable to play too many cards (3), because you need to reach your influence phase with a counter on the visit at least. And the Elder Library will help you anyway until you field the dragonbound. [ quoted text not captured ]

The worst part of Visit is having a turn in which I only want to play three cards, as you noted. I just wanted to try out the new tech. Maybe next time I play the deck I'll call my Visits proxies for Dreams or Elder Library. Matt Morgan

"LSJ" <vte...@white-wolf.com> wrote in message news:<2p3p79F...@uni-berlin.de>... So, i guess the only thing that beats the do not replace is visit from the Capuchin. Dreams of the Sphinx don't beat it, either right ?

Have to jump in here with a new twist. If I have Gehhenna cards in play and I give them to another player via Succubus club, does my hand size return to normal? Does the new owner of the Gehhenna cards have their hand size reduced? Is this a means to avoid the hand size reduction along the lines if the Vists? Raille
