LSJ: tainted spring + jack of both sides

Hello, a little clarification as per subject: is tainted spring usable with the retainer recruiting action done with jack of both sides ? Think answer is no (as per the clarifications given in the past about TS with summoning/muricia's call) but i would like to get a confirmation here. thanks in advance Emiliano, NC Italy www.italybynight.org

Jack of Both Sides is an action to employ a named retainer from your hand (unlike Summoning/Muricia's Call, which are "search for and employ/recruit" actions). If there is a retainer ready, BV deals Environmental Damage like Carrion Crows/Weather Control and does not come directly from the Owl?
