Hello just your friendly neighborhood lurker here, :> I've just got a couple of questions just in case I play in some upcoming tourneys. 1: Is there a proscribed method for discarding random cards? Someone said that there was a rule that said that you laid the cards out and rolled a die. Where I usually just shuffle the cards and have the person making me discard pull one of their chose. 2: Are there any limits on cards at all? I seem to remember that there used to be a limit on certain cards/deck, like 8 Majesty and so on. 3: What kinds of decks should I expect? I know that this will be a regional type of thing, and for those of you wondering I live in Chicago. 4: Speaking of regional. Does anyone know of any tourneys that will be in the Chicago area, (very close to Chicago, I have no car.) such as winter fantasy, and Gen Con (well no car but Milwaukee is very easy to get to)? That's pretty much it for now. If I think of more I will be sure to post them here. On to the NCL/CL debate: I had posted some message to the system awhile back talking about card limits. My suggestions where for friendly group games. Where ncl deck just aren't as friendly. For Tourneys the NCL is needed to get certain deck to work, but again for the more informal friendly games the cl deck is slower and there for promotes a friendlier, and less aggravating play environment. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

Any random method will do: a seven-sided die, a blind pull by one of the other players, whatever. > 2: Are there any limits on cards at all? Other than the limit on the size of the library itself, no. > I seem to remember that there used to > be a limit on certain cards/deck, like 8 Majesty and so on. There is no "restricted list" or generic card limit. [questions about tournaments snipped]. I'll check again to see if WotC has a schedule for V:TES events in the upcoming conventions. -- L. There will be MJL-sponsored tournaments on the west side of Michigan throughout the year. As soon as our tournament schedule for the year is finalized, I'll post it here. Please note that the MJL does not use WotC errata or DCI rules. It has its own errata and tournament rules. Noal McDonald Michigan Jyhad League -- "Excuse me. I fail to see how a CL S&B stealth-bleed deck is slowed down in any way whatsoever, because it doesn't. CL *in a friendly environment* may allow slower decks to work, but CL alone, because it can't stop S&B in an objective manner, just doesn't do that. -- James Coupe (Prince of Mercia, England) Vampire: Elder Kindred Network http://madnessnetwork.hexagon.net
