Hello,
I have used the archive, but could not get all the info I needed and
just to make sure I am also up to date concerning some ruling updates
and erratas (some comments I found are dating back to '96). For a
scenario that is shown below which is the reason why I open a new topic
with some questions:
My predator (A) is bleeding me (B) with Govern the Unaligned.
Can A play Action Modifiers like:
- Bonding lesser or Conditioning prior to blocker declaration?
- Bonding on greater although he does not need the stealth?
I can use a Deflection to deflect him to my prey (C) before blocker
declaration, still being able to have a chance to block later that
action (in case redeflected)
- Correct?
C is deflecting the bleed back to me
- I still can anounce a block as I have not declined to block yet?
- What if my prey declines to block - do I also have to make a decision
at the point?
- I cannot use another Deflection but a Telepathic Misdirection or a
Redirection as I cannot play a reaction card twice during the same
action?
- If I would have declined to block earlier on, playing the Deflection
after blocker declaration and the bleed gets deflected again, I get a
new chance to block.
- A used Stealth to sneak by my vamps and I used a deflection.
Redrawing up to my hand size I top-decked an intercept. If the bleed is
re-deflected I can use that card to attempt to block again.
- Faceless Night taps an unsuccessful blocking vampire only at the end
of action. This vampire can still play any reaction cards e.g.
Telepathic Counter (reducing the bleed)
Thx, Juergen

No.

Yes.
Note that "redeflected" would always give you an opportunity to declare
blockers, even if you had declined to block prior to the
"redeflection".

Yes.

Moot.

Not with the same minion, right.
A different minion could play Deflection, though.

Correct.

Correct.

Correct. Or he could play deflection to tap before the Faceless Night
taps him

if none cancels the action via (direct intervention, determine, e.t.c.)
then you are free to play modifiers such Conditioning, lesser bonding,
before anyone has the chance to declare a block attempt.
> - Bonding on greater although he does not need the stealth?
NO, you cannot modify, in any way, the stealth of the action if stealth
is not needed.
Exception are the cards/effects/e.t.c. that state "...even if stelath
is not yet needed"
So, you have to wait until a blocking attempt, that has equal or more
intercept than your stealth, is made.

correct.
Additionaly, even if you declare a blocking attempt with minion A that
fails, you deflect the bleed to you predator and the bleed gets
deflected back to you somehow, then minion A CAN declare to block,
because the bleed was retargeted and there is a rule that allows
him/her to do so.

correct. even if you had declined to block, you can now block as the
bleed's
target has changed and you are the new target. see above.
also think this, if this wasn't the case, then i could e.g. bleed for 6
and ask my prey "do you block ?" he says "no" then i ask everysingle
meth in the game "do you block" every minion declines and then my prey
deflects the bleed to his prey... all minions have already declined to
block... so none can block ???? wrong... this is covered by the "bleed
retargeted-new block attempts can be made" rule i state above...
> - What if my prey declines to block - do I also have to make a decision

any new decisions (you have to make) are made when the bleed is
deflected back to you... Then you can decide to block or send it
somewhere else... :)

you can use another deflection... BUT only played by another minion...
The same minion cannot play the same reaction or action modifier during
the same action.

yes, the bleed is re-deflected back to you, you can now choose to
block, you can
play cards as normal...

yes, you can.
