The online rulebook says that you may not contest a card with yourself but I am unsure as to how this is resolved. These scenerios are mostly corner cases but are a result of my thinking baout the original case. Scenerio 1- I have a Sengir dagger out and I take an action to equip a second. Does the action never occur, fizzle (I'm tapped but no dagger), or one of the daggers is burned immediately. Scenerio 2- I have Stanislava out with the eye of Haziel and I accidently influence out another Stanislava. (I love made up examples) Are the transfers prevented, the last transfer is prevented, or Stanislava just sits in my uncontrolled region with no blood or she comes out and it is resolved as in Scenerio 1. Scenerio 3- I have Anson out and call a vote to make Smudge the Prince of Seattle in order to cycle cards. (Clearly Anson is going to vote againist this vote even though it is my own) Is this a legal action as it doesn't automatically contest the title in question. Thanks, Paul

Alternat answer : you play with cool guys who will just point you are going to equip for nothing, and you "take back the card & do sumthin'else" =) :: Scenerio 2- I have Stanislava out with the :: eye of Haziel and I accidently influence out another Stanislava. :: (I love made up examples) The other Stanislava enters play, burning immediatly. note: it works this way even when you don't control the Eye of Hazimel ;) :: Scenerio 3- I have Anson out and call a vote to :: make Smudge the Prince of Seattle in order to cycle cards. :: (Clearly Anson is going to vote againist this vote even though it :: is my own) Is this a legal action as it doesn't automatically :: contest the title in question. It's an illegal action since Anson cannot name another vampire a Prince using a Praxis Seizure card. However, Smudge can play a praxis Seizure to become the Prince of Seattle =) (Or Anson can call the praxis Seizure for himself ;) ) The title doesn't automatically contest, but your friends on the table will certainly vote in favor only to see you embarrased as Smudge becomes the new prince =) reyda

Titles are not cards - they can be contested. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. So if a person happened to have a vampire with a Sengir Dagger, and another vampire with Vast Wealth, if they took the action to equip and the first equipment available was a Sengir Dagger, what would happen? Hm..guess I should have looked first, because here's the answer: "If the equipment cannot be legally placed on the vampire, it is burned without cost." I assume this also applies to vampires of an inappropriate clan or discipline trying to equip with an item requiring said clan or discipline. Jeff

So, if I read this correctly. Smudge can tap and take an action to equip a Femur of Toomler. Result being that the Femur is burnt, as Smudge cannot hold onto it (not being a Tzimisce) tho I do get to cycle the card. Is that right? BernieTime Lansing, Michigan

Is that right? No, you don't read correctly ;) smudge has to be a tzimisce in order to attempt to equip with the femur. However, if smudge has a vast wealth (a fact that most of us just ignored) and taps to equip with the first equipment from your library, he may end up equipping with a Femur. If it is the casen then the femur is burned without paying the cost. Voila ! reyda

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] No. Smudge cannot attempt to equip the Femur because he doesn't meet the requirements. The above is talking about Vast Wealth. If Smudge attempts the Vast Wealth action and the equipment retrieved is the Femur, then the Femur is burned without cost. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Then, can a vampire I control (with a Soul Gem and a Vast Wealth) use the Vast Wealth to equip with the first piece of equipment I find in my library (knowing that the only piece of equipment there are lots of Soul Gems? (just to cycle cards). Greetings, Damnans

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Yes. The order/contents of your library is not treated as a "known", even if you do happen to know it. [ quoted text not captured ]

You can actually base a strategy around this fact if you really wanted to.. Tusk the Talebearer lets you look at the top card in your library. Put a bunch of "search for equipment and reshuffle" effects (Vast Wealth, Thomas Steed, Magic of the Smith, ...) in the deck and no equipment to back it up.. so you can reshuffle til you get the top card you wanted. Or you can keep reshuffling near endgame if you're going for that precious half-point. You'll probably get beaten up for doing so, though... :)

[ quoted text not captured ] Dang, and here I was hoping you'd ingore Smudge so that he could cycle a card for me ;-) Smudge: "Hey! What's this bone thingy? Ewwww".. BernieTime

You'll probably get beaten up for doing so, though... :) There are provisions against stalling in the V:EKN rules. If the action serves no purpose but to cause a reshuffle and waste time, most judges will be able to see through that pretty clearly. -Robert Robert Goudie Chairman, V:EKN rob...@vtesinla.org http://www.vekn.org http://storyline.vekn.org

A player could have a legitimate argument of "I have it in my hand, my hand's stuffed in, I just want to play it to cycle, because I'll throw my Seduction modifier on top of the Magic of the Smith too". Obviously, this would be down to a judge to decide. -- James Coupe PGP 0x5D623D5D Don't just clap. What's the use of that?
