Ok, now I have looked in every version of the Rulebook and every faq I can get my grubby paws on, but I can't find the answer to this question. Player 1 declares a bleed at +1 stealth with Lucretia. Player 2 blocks with Anneke and heightened senses. Combat ensues: Player 1(Lucretia) declines setting range Player 2(Anneke) Sets long range with Fake out Player1 does not have any ranged strikes, so combat continues Player 2 attacks with a .44 Magnum Player 2 presses with a Hawg My question is where does the new round begin? Is it ranged or close? I have seen arguments for both: For ranged: Pressing vampire rides after the fleeing minion, and fires at him/her For Close: Pressing Vampire blocks fleeing minion's escape... So which is it? Or is it up to house rules?

Or is it up to house rules? I've always seen it that for each new round of combat, range is reset to close and that's the way I've always played it.

Excerpts from netnews.rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad: 17-Jul-97 Range after press by Pe...@juno.com > My question is where does the new round begin? Is it ranged or close? > The second round of combat defaults to close range, but can be moved to long with cards (Fake Out, etc). Reason: pressing minion blocks fleeing minion's escape. :) Take care, Jim
