If a Ravnos with Nightmare counters on it has been banished when the Nightmares activate, what happens? If it hasn't been played already, it could help you finish off the other last player(s) *late* in a game. BTW, if a vampire that has played a Sensory Deprivation is banished, the vampire has left play and so the Sensory Deprivation does too, right?

The controlled cards (other Ravnos, the Week of Nightmares itself) are handled normally. The uncontrolled Ravnos retains his Nightmare Counters, but they have no effect on the game after the Week is up. > If it hasn't been played already, it could help you > finish off the other last player(s) *late* in a game. > > BTW, if a vampire that has played a Sensory > Deprivation is banished, the vampire has left play > and so the Sensory Deprivation does too, right? From the online spoiler list: Sensory Deprivation [DS] Cardtype: Action Cost: 3 blood Discipline: Chimerstry Choose an ally or retainer in play. If an ally is chosen, he or she does not untap <as normal> during the untap phase as long as the acting vampire remains in play. If a retainer is chosen, that retainer is burned. (S) <Choose a vampire in play>; he or she does not untap <as normal> during the untap phase as long as the acting vampire remains in play. (I'll assume the new printing reproduces this text) The card does not remain in play, it just targets a vampire and sets up an effect that lasts until the acting vampire leaves play. However, if it did stay in play I'd say it would remain so, but would have no effect once the acting vampire left. That brings up a question though: if the acting vampire returns (from a banishment), will the Sensory Deprivation's effect resume? '...as long as the acting vampire _remains_ in play' sugests that the effect will stop (permanently) once the vampire leaves play, even if only for a brief time, but if it's supposed to mean '...while the acting vampire is in play', then it should resume once the vampire returns, which is what would happen if the SD was put on the vampire and never really left. And while we're at it, what would happen to a tapped SD'd vampire if he were banished? Can a vampire in the uncontrolled region be tapped/untapped? If yes, would the SD effect be 'out of play' while on the uncontrolled region (like a 'virtual' card on the vampire), and therefore the vampire would untap as normal? And if not, why? I don't see anything on the rulesbook stating that only controlled cards can be tapped/untapped (though I'll admit I'm not that good at searching through rulesbooks. :-) Flux

The effect is ended as soon as the condition is met. It doesn't resume, since no provision is made for it to resume. > And while we're at it, what would happen to a tapped SD'd vampire if he were > banished? Tapped is an attribute that only applies to controlled cards. When a vampire is moved from the uncontrolled region, he is moved "untapped". [7] [ quoted text not captured ]

Does the "no untapping as normal" effect resume when the Banished Sensory Deprived vampire comes back into play? thanks, Josh

[ quoted text not captured ] Yes. He still "comes back" untapped, however. [ quoted text not captured ]

Even if the card isn't placed on the vampire, all prior game effects will resume when the vampire returns to the controlled region.
