However, if you have a Hidden Lurker card you can use that and have another vampire go into combat with the blocker after the original combat is over. Or you can use Mask of a 1000 Faces and switch vampires. Randy

Your impression is correct. They are in an isolated combat. Early (pre-release) versions of Jyhad had attempted to allow for multiple-party combats, but the mechanics were too unweildly). You can engage in a series of combats from just one blocked action by playing Fast Reaction and/or Hidden Lurker and/or Psyche. But each individual combat will be between just two minions. -- L. And the Jyhad rules describe combat in terms of two minions, the acting minion and the blocking minion, so this should feel like a natural thing. This is clarified further in the V:TES version of the rules: "The blocking minion is tapped, and combat begins between the two 'opposing' minions" : Is it possible for me to bring another vampire to the aid of my : 'bleeder'? Umm, no. The combat mechanism (as described in detail in the rulebooks, both versions) is between _two_ minions. The only help that a given minion might have in _combatting_ another minion is if they have employed a retainer. As always, however, card text can break the rules -- but there is no card, that I know of, that allows more than two minions to actively participate in a combat. Other vampires might be able to have some affect on the combat (like tapping someone to get a combat ends effect if they have such card text), but there are only TWO combatting minions. Certainly you can "gang up" on someone by using appropriate cards to start a NEW combat with the "blocker" right after the first one ends, but your "bleeder" is essentially on his own during that first combat. : i.e., can I attack the opposing vampire with additional : vampires, or are they (the origional two vamps) in an isolatated combat? pretty isolated. -spongy

I don't really know if there is a card that allows 2 vampires to gang up on one other minion, but, I do know that once your vampires are in combat, they are the only 2 that can fight in that combat. -- +-------------------------------------------------------+ | Assamite | | (assa...@inlink.com) | +-------------------------------------------------------+ | http://www.angelfire.com/pages0/assamite/index.html | +-------------------------------------------------------+ | If there were a Cell Z, I'd be a member of it... | +-------------------------------------------------------+

It is isolated, except for any retainers they may have. Fast Reaction on the blocker's side and Hidden Lurker on the actor's side allow another vamp in AFTER the first combat is over. J. You may only be tag teaming him but since with the second minion he cannot strike back it will hurt. Rory The Ref at refp...@best.com

Thanks everyone, who responded to my question about multiple-vampire combat. Most helpful! -j
