Q Agaitas the scolar of antiquites

Card text says : " Whenever you play a card, you may draw its replacement from your prey's library instead of your own. Put the card drawn face-up in front of you. It is still considered to be in your hand, and be played or discarded as normal." The card reafears when the Vampire plays a card or when the Mathuselah when this vamp is ready? For exemple: when I play a master card or some other card , that doesn't involve the vamp but i have him into play , what happens? or when this vamp plays a some card for itself for exp: auspex intercept?
