Q. Scorpion Sting oddness

This must have been asked before but I missed it. If vamp A has played a dodge and vamp B hits with a Scorpion Sting what stike if any does A have to play ? Hands, if so can he/she modify it then. He dodges, albeit not successfully (assuming the Sting was played at superior). No mechanism is provided to allow him to change his strike.
