Hidden Lurker/Fast Reaction Question

Actually, I have 2 questions: 1. Both cards say that during the first round of combat the opposing minion cannot use any strikes. Does this mean that they simply stand there and do nothing, or are they allowed to use their hand to strike? I believe that it means that the minion cannot use a card to strike, but a friend insists that they aren't allowed to do anything. 2. Hidden Lurker, being an action, can be blocked (correct?). Since the card says that the "blocking minion" cannot use any strikes, does this mean that ANY blocker may not use strikes, or only the blocker with whom the Lurker intended to enter combat with is prevented from using strikes (since the new blocker makes the action unsuccessful)?

I believe its no strikes, but the biggest advantage is to keep them from playing a strike ends card. >2. Hidden Lurker, being an action, can be blocked (correct?). The text is misleading because they just reused the text on both cards with a switch on the word. If the action is blocked then its effects do not take place and combat is as normal. The question I had with that card was originally could you enter combat with a minion you just fought even if he didn't block to get in the fight. For example using a Bums Rush or Wynns special ability. In other words do they have to block a previous action and so allowing your actions to be twarted is the only way to use this card. Tom said no, that it plays regardless of how you have the first fight. Since unlike fast reaction it can be blocked this is a slightly weaker card already. Rory

The victim can maneuver and/or press and/or prevent damage - but he cannot strike (nor can he use a maneuver which commits him to a strike - like from a gun or Aid from Bats, etc.) >2. Hidden Lurker, being an action, can be blocked (correct?). As an action (misprinted, but the RTR upholds the misprint), it can be blocked. The "Blockng Minion" refers to the target, not the blocker of "Hidden Lurker" - all actions refer only to successful actions unless they have an "If this action is blocked..." text. Since Hidden Lurker wasn't meant to be an action (and therefore should not be blockable), naturally it doesn't have this text. Tom: Question - since I have to tap to take an action in the first place, how can I tap the Hidden Lurker vampire again as the action resolves? -- ----- L. Peace James, The opposing minion may not strike, which includes hand strikes and dodges. They can maneuver, press, or prevent damage with For or equipment. >2. Hidden Lurker, being an action, can be blocked (correct?). The second block(er) makes the HL action unsuccessful, so the card text is ignored. Nil carborundum illigitimi, James R. McClure Jr. The OS/2 Apostle <insert disclaimer here>

It's worth noting that Hidden Lurker is often played as a house rule as an action modifier, thus making it a useful card. Peter "I'll just say my secret magic word..."
