[LSJ] Rowan Ring + Vengeance of Samiel

Can i play vengeance of Samiel with Rowan Ring, just to get the benefit of the undodgeable Rowan Ring strike ? (i know that it will still cause 0 damage) I believe yes, because i don't think that there is a rule that prevents me from playing a card to modify the damage of a melee weapon that does no damage (like Rowan Ring). So playing Vengeange of Samiel at inferior val (and choosing Rowan Ring as the melee weapon) will result in striking with rowan ring undodgeable and still inflict 0 damage, right ? I am asking because i have recently constructed a very fun-to-play Tariq - Adonai - Wolf Valentine deck. With lots of Blessings...
