My playgroup and I (somewhat all newbies) are unsure as to when to play certain cards.. A couple examples are Claws of the Dead/Wolf Claws, and Pulled fangs. Could someone help me out on this? As well, what sort of guidelines should we use when determining when a card should be played? If it's not too much trouble, please e-mail me your response as well as posting it here. I don't check the newsgroup all that often. Thanx in advance. jonathan

Pulled Fangs can be played any time in the round after damage has been resolved and you done more to them. James Coupe.

Just a note, though, Darkness Unveiled is almost useless for most rules questions. Getting the list of the latest rulings off of DejaNews or from L. Scott Johnson's Rulesmonger page is much better. >Pulled Fangs can be played any time in the round after damage has been >resolved and you done more to them. I think this is the current ruling, although checking w/ L. Scott would probably be a wise idea. Alec Chang

It is perfectly within the rules to wait until the blocking minion's strike is announced before declaring that claws will be used as long as the declaration is made prior to resolving any strikes. Likewise, the blocking minion may wait until the last moment before strike resolution to declare their claws, though I don't know why they would need to wait. And, yes, Darkness Unveiled is of little or no use as a guide for either rules or strategy for Jyhad. Buy it for the cool cover if you must but ignore what is inside. Doug Dunaway Follower of Santa

It is played at the press step, or when the round ends (if it ends before the press step - qhether by a vampiregoing to torpor or by a S:CE). -- L.
