Infernal Pursuit vs Strike: Combat Ends

My vampire with CEL is acting and in combat with another vampire. I have Infernal Pursuit in hand. My vampire declares a strike; the opposing vampire strikes: combat ends. Is there any opportunity to play the Infernal Pursuit at CEL prior to strike resolution? Might be helpful to dig for a Psyche! Thanks in advance. Jeff
