I'm sure you know about this auspex combat card: "aus: dodge AUS: only usable by the acting vampire after the opposing minion has chosen his or her strike. Cancel this actig vampire's strike and choose a new one". The "acting vampire" is your vampire, right ? So, basically I could choose to deal a basic strike and then, seeing my opponent doesn't dodge, play primal instincts to change my mind and play a card inflicting aggravated damage (I'm playing Tzimisce). Am I correct ? Could I use this card to cancel my opponent's strike ? (I suppose I couldn't but it doesn't hurt asking ;) ). And, in case it's not possible do you know about a card a Tzimisce could play to cancel his enemy's strike ? Thanks

But it has to be played pre-emptively. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Am I correct ? Yup. Too bad Primal insticts is terribly expensive and Tzim's aren't exactly known for their surplus of blood. Now, if you're playing it in a Theft/BoS-like deck, it'd be a good addition, but then, Thoughts Betrayed is superior. > Could I use this card to cancel my opponent's strike ? Skin Trap if they don't pay the cost and some Tzimi's can play Thoughts Betrayed at superior. You could also just strike for one at close, draw out the dodge/SCE and aggravate it with Chiropteran Marauder if they just strike hands for one.

Thanks, I've heard about this Skin Trap card. Nifty. Alas I've got none :(. I don't play with Thaumaturgy or Domination so Theft of Vitae or Thoughts Betrayed (a terrific and terrible card) aren't an option to me. Anyway, Dragos doesn't spend any blood to use his combat cards and I've got two racks in my library, a good addition to my intercept game. I thought about using Primal Instinct with both aggravated damage and Meld with Land. The first combo is clear: you aggravate the damage only after your foe has elected not to dodge your one point strike ; as for the second, Meld with Land would allow me to protect my Tzimisce in case things go awry or to fool a combat end deck by playing the card first and then cancelling it to strike while the opponent didn't use any combat ends strike, thinking the combat is already over.
