1. I ahve Dreams of the Sphinx out and have not used it yet (untapped). It is my predators turn. He plays Misdirection to tap all my vampires and attempts to bleed. I tap the Dreams to add one blood to one of my uncontrolled vampires, which by chance is Basil - a one point vampire. Can he become active immedeatly and attempt to block? I think yes. But then again I would! 2. I just want to clear up something as regards D actions.... Can an Arson burn a location controlled by my grand predator? The reason why I get confused is becuase I thought that, unless stated otherwise, D actions can only be played to attack your prey. Any thoughts? 3. Does Alexandria (Toreador Inner Circle member) tap to use her ability? DH UGPOW Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Arson can burn anyone's location. It sounds like the rule you're thinking of is that bleeds (which are directed actions, but only one type) can only be directed at your prey, unless card text explicitly says otherwise. (Cat Burglary and Night Moves, for example, have text allowing you to bleed other people.) In general, if a card says something like "(D) Burn a location", you can burn any location on the table with it. > 3. Does Alexandria (Toreador Inner Circle member) tap to use her > ability? Nope. Unless an ability tells you to tap to use it, you don't tap. I'm not LSJ, but these answers are correct. ;-) Josh [ quoted text not captured ]

[1.5.2], [7] > 2. I just want to clear up something as regards D actions.... > > Can an Arson burn a location controlled by my grand predator? Yes. Card text: "Burn a location". Since it doesn't restrict the action to a particular Methuselah (or otherwise exclude your grand predator), your grand predator is not immune. > The reason why I get confused is becuase I thought that, unless stated > otherwise, D actions can only be played to attack your prey. > > Any thoughts? Directed actions target whomever they target. You do not determine the available targets after deciding if the action is directed - you must know the target in order to classify the action as directed or undirected. [6.2.2.1] All actions specify the available targets. In your case (Arson), the available targets are all controlled locations. Some actions, like Computer Hacking, identify the available target(s) implicitly by relying on the rulebook rules for certain actions. Since (for the Computer Hacking case) a bleed is directed at one's prey by default, the card need not restate this. [6.1.6] > 3. Does Alexandria (Toreador Inner Circle member) tap to use her > ability? No. It is not an action, and the ability doesn't say that she must tap to use it, so she doesn't tap to use it. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
