For a long time I've owned a lot of Jyhad cards. I bought them because my instincts told me that I would like the game. But I had nobody to play with so they sat unused. Finally a Net friend from LA came up to visit and taught me how to play the game. Wow, I'm amazed. This is a far better game than I had ever imagined. Suddenly Magic and Star Wars seem like shallow diversions for children. I want to play Jyhad:VTES. Does anybody know of a friendly play group in the SF East Bay that is willing to accept relative beginners? I'm in Contra Costa County in the town of Martinez (near Concord). Alternately, does anybody know of any on-line registry of players?

Richard Garfield himself says in the credits of the game that he wanted to make it better than Magic. I think it is, but since games take so long, its hard to get people with short attention spans to play the game. >Does anybody know of a friendly play group in the SF East Bay that is >willing to accept relative beginners? Perhaps a player contact board on a webpage with the ability to add yourself onto it would be a good idea. As for on-line play, wouldn't it be really nice to have a TCP-IP network version of Vampire to play over the net just like the Magic folk? I know I'd buy it and buy copies for friends to use as well. Maybe we could work out rules for play-by-email duels? Sigh. Graham -- Graham H. Watt gra...@gol.com http://www.portal.com/~graham J/V:TES(mtg)(ote) (Misawa, Japan) 40.40N Lat. 141.20E Lon.

A net playable version of Jyhad is a good idea. Personally, however, one of the big reasons I like to play CCGs is that it gets me away from the computer. I spent all day working as a developer and then I come home and spend a fair amount of time at my home computer plotting my moves for a variety of Play-By-Email games. So the last thing I need is another computer oriented amusement. The great thing about Jyhad is the face to face interaction and the look and feel of the cards that are in play. But it is frustrating to find opponents. You are also right when you say an online registry of players would be very helpful. Now all we need is somebody to volunteer to build and maintain a dedicated website.
