If you enter combat and play a strike with an optional maneuver when do you play the card? Maneuver or strike portion of the round? Of course if you use the maneuver you must use the strike. If the card is played during the strike resolution portion of the combat can the opposing minion use maneuvers cancel? Also.... Who chooses if a retainer gets damaged by ranged combat? The minion with the retainer or the striking minion? (I thought I read somewhere the striking minion, but I can't remember where!) Can the minion with the retainer use cards (i.e. fortitude) to prevent damage to the retainer? BT br...@opus.chem.psu.edu

You can play it at two times: -> during the maneuver phase, in which case you must use the maneuver it gives you -> during a choose strike phase, in which case its maneuver is wasted >Who chooses if a retainer gets damaged by ranged combat? Like any other combat card, prevent-damage cards can only help the minion using the card unless the card says otherwise.
