Dear LSJ! Do cards such as Carrion Crows also count for Dawn Operation, Taste of Vitae and similar? I mean, is the damage from Carrion Crows with a Dawn Operation aggrevated as well? Does the vampire playing Carrion Crows get the lost blood (if any) from Taste of Vitae as well as the blood lost by the opposing vampire due to strikes? XANDL ------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUDERN!!!!!

Dawn Op makes all damage done to vampires during the combat aggravated, including damage from Carrion Crows. Taste of Vitae counts blood lost by damage done, so would count any blood lost to Carrion Crows' damage. > I mean, is the damage from Carrion Crows with a Dawn Operation > aggrevated as well? It has for over a year been ruled to only count blood lost due to damage inflicted on the victim. For that same period of time, it has been mis-reported in my errata summary posts. The mistake was recently corrected, thanks to Karl Innes and the rest of JOLT12. Yes, Carrion Crows' damage is "environmental'. And yes, Taste of Vitae counts blood lost due to any damage, environmental damage included. [ quoted text not captured ]

I thought Taste of Vitae was most recently ruled to only count blood lost to damage inflicted by the Tasting vampire. Carrion Crows, according to the spoiler wording I'm looking at, looks like 'environmental' damage which doesn't usually count for Taste (but would certainly be aggravated at Dawn). Has something changed that I didn't notice? Thanks, Josh

In article <6479rq$7...@newsstand.cit.cornell.edu>, Joshua Duffin <du...@newton.ruph.cornell.edu> writes [ quoted text not captured ] Seems that way to me. Taste of Vitae - combat: Only counts damage successfully inflicted on the opposing vampire. It will not, for example, give blood for blood spent playing combat cards or stolen blood. [RTR] May be played after any strike resolution step, but will not count blood lost during future strikes in the same round. [TOM 951217] The blood is gained immediately, and can be used to heal damage from future strikes, even in the same round. [TOM 951217] *** Only counts blood lost to damage inflicted by the opposing minion. [TOM 960302] *** -- James Coupe (remove items of food to reply via e-mail) Dick: I lost your number.... Thanks for clearing that up. So is the 'environmental' nature of certain damage relevant only for cards such as Pulled Fangs/Disarm and the like, now? Josh

The "environmental" distinction only matters to cards that care how much damage a minion inflicts. (Not to cards that care how much damage is inflicted on a minion). [ quoted text not captured ]

It's not new - it's old and won't die properly. :-) The "by" should have been "on", and the whole thing shouldn't have appeared (I know I deleted it once - I'll go delete it again). Sorry about that.
