This situation came up in our playgroup last time we played: Player A announces Recruiting party and announces that he will do a Stealth Ritus on the action, player B plays Determine in response. What happens ? A: Since the action is cancelled it is not possible to play action modifiers on the action, hence the vampires performing the Stealth Ritus don't burn/ don't pay a blood and the SR is returned to player A's hand ! B: The action is cancelled but the vampires still burn/pay a blood since the Stealth Ritus was played when the action was announced and is not reversible ! I'm pretty sure that the answer is A, just need a confirmation ! Thx ! DJ Mik Relevant Card-text: Recruiting Party [Sabbat:R, SW:R] Cardtype: Action Clan: Ventrue antitribu Each Ventrue antitribu in your uncontrolled region gains 1 blood from the blood bank. Determine [NoR:C] Cardtype: Reaction Cost: 1 Conviction Virtue: Vision Play when a monster controlled by your predator is bleeding you. Tap this reacting imbued. The monster is now bleeding your predator's predator. Or play when a monster controlled by your predator or prey plays an action card. Tap this reacting imbued and cancel that action card as it is played (no cost is paid, and the monster doesn't tap). That monster cannot play the same action card again this turn. Stealth Ritus [BH:C/PTo2/PTr2] Cardtype: Action Modifier Cost: 1 blood Requires a ready Sabbat vampire. Only usable as the action is announced. Choose another ready Sabbat vampire you control. The chosen vampire burns 1 blood, or this card has no effect. This action gets +1 stealth, even if stealth is not yet needed.

The action needs to be canceled before any modifiers like Stealth Ritus are played. If the acting methuselah played too quickly, back up and let the other player play Determine (answer A). If the acting minion gave adequate time (asking if people wanted to cancel his action, and waiting for response), then it's too late to play Determine. This rarely happens. Witness1 -ItE

Player A, might anounced the action and said that he was going to use a stealth ritus... But as he was playing the action card, Determine canceled the action, so there's no "time window" for action modifiers, of any kind, to be played...

I don't usually do this but i'll give it a go. djmi...@hotmail.com wrote: > This situation came up in our playgroup last time we played: > > Player A announces Recruiting party and announces that he will do a > Stealth Ritus on the action, player B plays Determine in response. > > What happens ? > > > B: The action is cancelled but the vampires still burn/pay a blood > since the Stealth Ritus was played when the action was announced and is > not reversible ! > > [ quoted text not captured ] 6.2 Resolving an action Action modifiers and reaction cards can be played at any time during an action (unless otherwise noted on card text), with the acting Methuselah getting the opportunity to play first. Acting minion declares action fully including cards that are played as the action is announced. Action modifiers are paid for immediately. Determine is allowed to be played next, cancelling the action. The card was played and paid for, no backing up. oscar

As it is played, Determine says. I could go either way on this one. LSJ? > > oscar

Back up to before he played and payed for the Stealth Ritus, issue a Warning if necessary. "As the action is announced" happens *after* all players have failed to cancel the Action Card. -- - Gregory Stuart Pettigrew

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct. If he had "played" the Stealth Ritus, then undo (rewind) that. He would merely retrieve it (and return the card he had drawn to replace it to the library) and retrieve the cost, if he had paid that.

Tap the minion who is taking the action" So, you may anounce a mind rape action and anounce that you are going to use stealth ritus, BUT YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE ACTION CARD FIRST!!!!! then the stealth ritus.... AS you play the action card (if any), determine CAN interupt and cancel the action and thus you cannot play stealth ritus... that simple... If one rushes ahead and plays both cards at the same point, then rewind...
