lsj, when will there be a card list on the white wolf page? on the final nights page we can read: "After the release of Final Nights, a checklist will be included on this page. As other information is released, it will be included here also." this is not very precise. it could mean today, or in a few weeks. thanks, pallando

It just means we're going to have to put a list together ourselves.

If you are attempting to compare White Wolf, and the staff they have available to do this kind of thing, with the "other" card game out there, which is owned by HASBRO, then you need to stop and think what this kind of comparison does for the validity of your argument. > just like last time with sabbat war. > > i doubt that other companies let their custmers wait for a month till they > get their card list! If releasing it earlier would push the release date of the PRODUCT back a month, would you rather have that be the standard? Just wonderin'. > how are we supposed to know the rarity of a card when traidng? Ask around. Post on the newsgroup, as you are doing right now. There are a lot of CCGs out there. There are a handful of companies. AFAIK, most provide checklists of some sort. >> or should we simply cease all trading for the first month? > >You are getting slighty hysterical about this issue. Please take a deep >breath and try and relax. Yes, don't trade. I don't think there's a need to until critical information is available. OTOH, I don't understand the lack of information. It does not slow down the release of a product to add a checklist. It does not slow down the release of a product to post an official spoiler/checklist up on the web site. It does not help anyone to not have that info available. Actually, on a bit of a tangent, I delayed posting about the prerelease as I believed that that was what was desired in order for the cards to be a surprise to those who hadn't yet played. But, there was no reprimand for all of those who spoiled cards prior to Sunday's event(s), so I guess no one cares. So, I don't understand what the position of WW is.

A full spoiler would be useful so that questions about card interactions could be aired and resolved before the cards are street legal. - Jason Bell

Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise, eh? :-) Spoiling the surprise is certainly no fun. However, I'd very much like to see the card list (and texts) posted on the White Wolf site before Final Nights cards become legal for tournament play. It would help to keep players on an equal footing, at least in terms of helping those unable to get enough/see enough Final Nights cards to be aware of what they could end up facing in a tournament. - Ben Peal, Prince of Boston fu...@mindstorm.com

I'd be tempted to say the first, but you Americans (*waves hands vaguely*) would probably prefer the fourth. :-) -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D "You reinstall Dial-Up Networking. It seems we have a full card list within a week. (Referring to earlier posts that listed new cards) So now the question is only about rarities. I assume that rare card is last one in the booster? - Guzmo

It was a hypothetical question. Would you rather have the cards, or the checklist? I suspect you'd rather have both, but me, I'm just happy to have the cards. > > > how are we supposed to know the rarity of a card when traidng? > > > > Ask around. Who cares what the rarity is? If you're going to trade, maybe you should just trade based on utility. I'll happily trade away oh, say, a Mind Rape and a ToGP for more than two Betrayers. Yeah, they're all rare, but everyone wants Mind Rapes and ToGPs, but I want Betrayers more. Suggesting that everyone stop trading for a month *is* getting a little hysterical, Mr. Exclamation Points. So White Wolf isn't releasing a checklist...a list is being compiled on the newsgroup, and on the Monger db, and I suspect that David Anderson-Davila is compiling a list in coordination with Ethan. I may be doing an unsupported update to the ELDB database between now and whenever David releases the new db, but there are plenty of resources to you to find/build a checklist. > > > btw, i remember the days where the checklists came with the boxes. > > > > With what card game did that occur? > > > L5R e.g. yes kevin there are other CCG than Vampire and that evil other game > (by the way people call it magic kevin). There are? Hmm. The only other one I know of is Shadowfist. :) Xian -- I'd tell the world and save my soul, But rain falls down and I feel cold. I think Ben makes a most valid point here. If I recall from Sabbat War, the WW folks provided a card list to the CCG magazines after the release, but waited about a month or so to release it to the public b/c the CCG magazines were more likely to publish a list if there wasn't already an official one in cyberspace. This doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't impact tournament play. Rob Grau rfg...@eos.ncsu.edu [ quoted text not captured ]

To be honest I'm updating Monger as I get cards myself. I haven't bothered looking at the current compiled lists nor been in contact with David. I hope that doesn't make me seem apathetic... Besides, I can't put a seal of approval on it till the official checklist is out anyways. If the magazines don't want to publish a checklist, screw them. They aren't, then, doing their jobs. I seriously doubt a CCG mag that normally runs checklists won't for such an established game anyway. WW is not powerless in the market place.
