This implies that Soul Burn resolves before the paired strike from the
opposing minion. That is not the case. The two resolve simultaneously,
unless there's been errata issued for Soul Burn that I haven't seen.
While it may be the intent of the designers, it certainly isn't represented
by the card text.
However, I can't find any compelling evidence suggesting that it was the
intent of the card designer. So, unless someone with an official count
of how the card is supposed to work pipes in, we'll have to play it as
written (that is, the opposing minion's strike resolves normally, a la
steal/destroy weapon).
