The way the text of superior Terror Frenzy is worded it seems as though the additional blood is not a required cost of playing the card (so a minion with zero blood could play a card). Is this correct? There is no "required" or "must" stated on the card. Also, assuming this is correct, a minion with zero blood plays Taste of Vitae. This minion has dealt a total of 3 damage for this round of combat. How much blood would this minion have at the end of the round of combat. Is the blood due to the Terror Frenzy paid before the resolution of the Taste of Vitae? Terror Frenzy Type(s): Combat Discipline: Animalism Blood Cost: 1 Only usable before range is determined on the first round. During this combat, the opposing minion can only use maneuvers to set the combat at long range, cannot press to continue combat, and cannot use equipment. SUP: Only usable before range is determined. Opposing minion pays an additional blood when playing combat cards during this combat. Thanks Doug Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

Is this correct? Yes. > There is no "required" or "must" stated on the card. It is a must: he cannot choose not to burn a blood. If he has no blood to burn, however, he ignores the burn blood effect, as empty vampires always do. > Also, assuming this is correct, a minion with zero blood plays Taste > of Vitae. It is burned when the card is played, before the effects of the card are applied. The minion will burn a blood (leaving him at zero) and then gain 3 for the Taste. > SUP: Only usable before range is determined. Opposing vampire burns an additional blood when playing combat cards this combat. A vampire may play only one Terror Frenzy at superior each combat." -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. To clarify a little on the particular combat that Doug's talking about let me describe the whole thing: Doug's Minion A with 5 blood was trying to equip and my Minion B with 4 blood blocked. They got into combat and Minion B played a Song of Serenity and a Terror Frenzy, both at superior. Minion A struck with Pushing the Limit costing him 2 blood (1 + 1 for TF) doing 2 damage (3 - 1 for SoS). Minion B punched Minion A doing 1 damage. Minion A played Acrobatics at inferior for an additional strike costing him 2 blood (1 + 1 for TF) and his additional strike was an Undead Strength costing him 1 blood (0 + 1 for TF) doing 1 damage (2 - 1 for SoS). He then wanted to play a Taste of Vitae costing him 1 (0 + 1 for TF) in order to gain 3. Since he didn't have the blood to pay for the Undead Strength and the Taste, could he have played them? And if he didn't have to pay for them, would he have ended the combat with 3 blood? Thanks! Mari who, after the game on Wednesday night, can DEFINITELY assure folks that Doug and i do not engage in collusion during VTES games (just ask the other folks at the game) In article <96164h$5g6$1...@nnrp1.deja.com>, [ quoted text not captured ]

After playing the Taste, he gains 3 blood, leaving him with 3. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
