The new issue of Game Trade has a preview of about 6-7 cards from the new
set. I didn't bother to buy it, but here are a few things, to the best of my
memory:
- 9-cap Assamite
something inf-CEL-QUI-OBF-THA
Seraph, Black Hand
pays 1 less for QUI cards; pays 1 less for weapons; not blood cursed
- Potence strike
do not replace until (something happens - untap or combat ends I think)
pot +1 hand/+2 melee weapon
POT +2 hand/+3 melee
- Serpentis action, no cost
ser Tap a minion (maybe limited to prey?)
SER add a corruption counter, with text to take the minion if it's fully
corrupted (prey only? don't recall for sure)
- PA Card
requires indep vamp with capacity >=4
cost 2 blood
allocate 6 pool among 2 or more Meths
- Chimerstry action modifier
costs 1 (?)
chi cancel a reaction card that requires aus or dem
CHI +1 stealth, plus (burn a blood?) to use the chi effect as well
- Giovanni action; +1 stealth
put (foo) in play, or add a counter to a (foo) in play
add a counter whenever (a unique minion?) is burned; if the card has 7
counters or more, Giovanni all have NEC and can also take an action to put a
burned minion into play as a wraith with some wraith-like abilities
- Pat
sorry for the faulty memory
> - 9-cap Assamite
> something inf-CEL-QUI-OBF-THA

Wow, I'm not to thrilled about seeing the Thaum since I can't use him
with the other Sorcerors of the clan. But the reduced cost for Qui
and weapons makes him the next Star Vampire for Assamites. That seems
to be the only thing Assamites get.

Patience. And this Assamite looks like Izhim to me, particularly if
this inferior discipline is for or pot. And he's good. THA seems great
(MotS, Rutor's Hand) if he will be the star of the deck. And at last
we've got vampire who pays less for Quietus.;)

Here's the one that scares me. Like chi isn't good enough as a
Discipline. :D
(Tongue in cheek, more variety is good, but woah, that card has
potential)

Dude, If I were you I would be more concerned by the inferior
serpentis Tap any dude / superior corruption counter, thats really
really good.
And the vote that doest 6 damage between two meths.
Those are powercards.
THe CHI stealth thing is useable, but not scary. :)

Even if there are others to go with him. I won't be able to use any of
them with the original Sorcerors. I hope the inferior discipline
that's missing is Fort as that would be better than Pot. As then he'd
have something in common with someone in the new groups. By the way,
he's likely group 5. Although, perhaps even 6.

Very good, corruption counters are becoming more and more viable.

Now I am suspecting at this point your memory must have failed you, it
simply must have ... this is a real power card, huge.
Thanks for the update, let the rumours continue.

They are both good and nice.

It is good but as I heard of it I was downed by the 2 blood cost. Hopefully
there is no "no Voter Cap" clause.

That is correct. You can still play with them in draft, if you have

Indeed, nice and versatile especially when used with revelations of
desire.. very nice. The old problem with coprruption (that your boned
if your prey is a 10 cap deck) takes another blow to the nuts with
this card - cool.

How can you not be totally pleased with this card dude :o)
5 dmage to prey for 2 blood = good tradeoff. Sure it has to be a
successfull action, pass etc. but thats all just details - this card
ROCKS.

Infer Pot. Disappointing since there aren't any others in the group
with Pot yet. Though, it does make him even more of a beast. As now
he can IG some thaum first strike that can't be prevented by fort,
then disarm and Amaranth.

Potence is one of the best disciplins to get at inferior IMO,
especially in combat. The key cards in potence are just fine at
inferior: grapple and disarm.

Thanks for the clarifications...
is this "as above AND" , "as above OR", or "as above AND/OR"? (Not
sure if I'd prefer between and and or... not being able to use it to
corrupt tapped minions could suck, but tapping AND corrupting would be
nice)
No inherent stealth? (Just curious, as the existing 2 corruption
actions are both +1 stealth actions IIRC....)

Revelation of Ecstasy
+1 stealh action
ser - Tap one of your prey's ready minions
SER - as above, and place a corruption counter...etc. (with the take

I know it's strong. But he has no one but the WoK embrace card to work
with. He would have been better off with Fort as then he'd fit in
better with Joe Boot, Janni and even Antara. All of which share Fort.
Before him, there were only 3 Assamites with Pot. Thetmes who you see
in Star decks mostly. Jalal, who you don't typically see using his
Pot. And Husamettin who no one really plays with. Even if there are
two more Assamites with Pot in the new set, you still aren't likly to
see an Assamite Potence deck. Unless you play against me, cause I'll
be crazy enough to build another one.
The same thing with his Thaum, even if there are 5 others with Thaum
to make it 6 like group 2. We'll likely end up with a variation on
Kalinda who doesn't have Quietus or Parnasus who doesn't have Obs.

So if he can be either 4 or 5 but not 5, he should be group 4. Surely before

Well, the limitations are not the same, but Conservative is good too. And of
course Parity Shift is better than anything and not costly. I would have
preferred a 1 blood cost, given the restrictions, it would allow for non-Pre
voters to use it. Now the Giovanni are half-screwed on that one, I can't
like THAT !!

For Indie Voter Capers with a free stealth discipline, I have to agree. In
other terms, it really rocks for Setites. For the rest, it will take some
serious deckbuilding to include it. But be assured that I'll try to make a
Giovanni vote deck if the new vamps allow it ! :-)

Maybe this is the set where Voter Cap gets nerfed? They could have

I guess you'd have to build either a Hordes'n'Burn or a Necroturbo around
this card...
Enzo could do both. Hell, you could even diablerize without fear, Possess
the guy back, and get a wraith as a bonus. Or the Gem trick, get the Gem,
get the Diary in play, bleed for a whole bunch, burn, come back, Possess
another guy, get a Wraith...
Now all we need is a good card affecting wraiths in play and we're back into
business !! :-D

Face to face. You cannot allocate points into yourself, so only usable
if 3 or more meths are in the game.

Tupdogs and multiple copies of the book. Fill the book up using the
other copies to give it 7 counters (since the tupdogs won't add counters
when they burn), but then splooge all those tupdogs out into your ready
region (presumably. it doesn't say where in play they would
go...hmm...they'd be able to act the turn you get them, too!).
1 pool (tupdog) for a minion with +1 stealth and 1 bleed? yes please!
don't need anything else wraithy (well, that +1 stealth cloak for a
wraith card could be handy, but not really necessary....especially if
you play with memories of mortality!)

Yaah. True. He'd put counters on Diary, tho'. I think a combination of
him with Repo Man will be part of the Diary Deal. I'm willing to have a
few less targets for the Diary wraith allies, if it means the Diary will
trigger quicker.
Mmm. Would this pair well with a Arms Dealer deck? Jake fuels Diary
counters, chump-blocking Arms Dealers are re-animated from the ash heap...

Salem did say that when he said "(since the tupdogs won't add
counters when they burn)".

He meant tupdog takes an action to add a counter to the book.....

Possibly not, since the Tupdogs cannot perform that action (requires
Giovanni, if the spoiler text is correct).
The Tupdogs still sound like a fun plan, though.

Hi,
Reckless Agitation
PA Card
requires indep vamp with capacity above 4
cost 2 blood
Allocate 6 points amont two or more other Methuselahs.
Successful referendum means each Methuselah burns 1 pool for each
point
assigned.
If someone plays Delaying Tactics on your Reckless Agitation, do the
acting vampire still have to pay the 2 blood cost?

Uhps. Missed that.

yeah. I just meant tupdogs as a way of getting minions into your ashheap
easy. I didn't even have a plan for the tupdogs to do anything at all
while in play.
Thinking about it, it's probably easier to just discard heaps of allies
using Specialisation or something. :)
ooooh....Are there any Burn-option allies?

There are already 4 other gr 4 vampires with synergistic disciplines:
Hektor
Clan: Brujah antitribu (group 4)
Capacity: 9
Disciplines: CEL POT PRE QUI for
Sabbat priscus: Damage from Hektor's hand strikes is aggravated. Baali
get +1 bleed when bleeding you.
Rodrigo
Clan: Brujah antitribu (group 4)
Capacity: 5
Disciplines: CEL pot pre qui
Sabbat.
Kamiri wa Itherero
Clan: Akunanse (group 4)
Capacity: 10
Disciplines: ABO ANI FOR OBF pot qui
Laibon: Younger vampires must burn 1 blood to attempt to block Kamiri.
If an ally blocks Kamiri and combat occurs, burn the ally at the end
of the action.
Mukhtar Bey
Clan: Caitiff (group 4)
Capacity: 7
Disciplines: FOR PRE QUI obf pot
Camarilla Prince of Cairo: Mukhtar cannot use presses to continue
combat. If there are five Gehenna cards in play during your untap
phase, burn Mukhtar.
Massassi
Clan: Osebo (group 4)
Capacity: 9
Disciplines: AUS CEL POT QUI obf
Laibon: Massassi can enter combat with a ready vampire as a (D)
action. If that action is successful, she gets an optional maneuver in
the first round of the resulting combat.
They're all beefy with the exception of Rodrigo, but a Massassi or
Hektor combo could be workable with the right tech in place to save/
recover the pool. Hopefully there will be a handful of decent new
vampires to work into it, as well.

But they aren't Assamites. That's my main complaint with his spread.
And using the none Assamites requires a lot of work. Mostly with
regards to having any pool left after bringing out such big vamps.
Not counting comboing with either Rodrigo or Mukhtar. Still not worth
it. As by that same standard Akram and Jalal and Thetmes and
Husametin should be potence bash brothers, but aren't.

Well, they have POT. If you plan on using Potence, the Tupdogs might
not be completely useless before they burn. They won't be able to
rush, but they could block (zero stealth stuff, so not really good).
Maybe there is some undirected thing they could perform?

Yeah... for some reason, I was too focused on making wraiths from
minions that were in play before at some point. But you are right, we
are possibly better off just discarding them while doing useful things
- like getting seven counters on the Diary. =)
> ooooh....Are there any Burn-option allies?
A quick ARDB search resulted in 26 burn-option cards. No allies there.

You and Jyhad both posted this combo, so it seems worth pointing out
the obvious fact that first strike and disarm don't have any synergy
at all.
[ quoted text not captured ]
It still works. It just means you have to wait for the round to
finish. And hope you did more damage. It simply can't be instant.
Where as first strike, unpreventable agg amaranth would have more
synergy.
> maybe nocturn will be good - he is cheap and burns anyway :D
Non-Unique, so for one blood and a definitely non-Giovanni discipline you'll
add no counter to the Diary. You're better off discarding Shamblings (after
use ?).

If there was some way of reducing Akhenatan's cost to the point where
it is managable, he would be quite sweet to use due to his shuffle
when burnt clause? And he CAN play nec...
But so very very expensive....
[ quoted text not captured ]
HAHAHAHAHA a use for Caiaphas smith
Recruit him, during your turn rush and kill him. preferably with
something that also dies and is unique. And with Charisma he's free!
[ quoted text not captured ]
repo man good cos blood cost, not pool cost. Also good, (Finally ,
bwahahahahaha) is vagabond mystic. just rush some havened vampire with
decent strength. Even better, rush caiaphas and set off a bomb.....

Puppeeters, just play them in Inferior and they'll get blocked and killed
more often than not. Of course there will be a synergy with all wraith
cards...

Actually, the reason i listed those above is, and this is very very
important, is that they are unique.
As this is required by the card for adding counters, this is a Good
Thing(tm)
[ quoted text not captured ]
Cry Wolves are unique, burn automatically and might even maul a
weenie.
Another possibility would be Vagabond Mystic+Rave+lots of Dolls to
help you survive until the Diary is full.

Sure, of course.

Great idea !

Getting Anarch is no problem, and might even be less of a problem after
LoTN. Not getting blocked should be feasible for someone with Nec,
especially if you take the Anarch Railroad right behind the Creepshow
Casino, and if you're really afraid to get blocked go the Summoning way ; of
course, as of now no Giovanni has PRE, but who knows...
> but yes, he would burn often.
And as mentionned he can even make some hurt !
One of the best ideas I heard yet. Of course you could try some tricks with
Julius, and / or with Al-Muntaquim, but it would take some set-up, some pool
(and some Giovanni too !). Silly idea : a Giovanni-impersonating
Al-Muntaquim caitiffs + wraiths deck ? Looooooooooooool.
