Proceed to knock the poor little bishop/primogen/prince etc. in and out of torpor as many times as you want to get up to infinite votes. Then bring in the Island of Yiaros and Tap it to give the Losombra +X hand damage where X is the infinite Votes that the vampire now has. there ya go, strike hands for Infinity. Within a given combat, the hand strike is a set amount -- base + current votes. The votes will not increase mid-combat, so there's no true infinity reached. 2) Political Struggle is burned when the vamp it's on goes to torpor -- so you have that additional limitation. You get to add your target's votes to yours once per successful combat -- and then you have to play another STruggle. The Fanboy

Thats funny, I read the card text on the deckmonger site somehow I missed that burned part on the card... no matter you can still pull off the above combo. Just add pochtli to you crypt to constantly retrieve the Political struggle and still pull the combo off over and over again. It will certainly take some time to build up but in theory there is no limit to how much damge you could do. its the ultimate strike. -Brad Prince of NLV

While I know the Prisci title is worth 0 votes and Genevieve would get +1 strength (for her special additional vote), would Gratiano's additional priscus vote be enough to get +1 strength? The ruling sort of implies that all Prisci votes are worth 0 but doesn't explicitly say that (says the Prisci title is worth zero, nothing about other sources of prisci votes). So...? Halcyan 2

YYYYMMDD is the accepted form of date specification in an international forum. No ambiguity there. The alternative format that I use is DD-MON-YYYY, which is longer and doesn't sort well, but it easier to read, at least for English speakers. What, exactly, is Bass ackwards about this? So this spawns an additional question -can a Prisci hold one vote during the Prisci block and have a Legendary card on him, causing him to hold sway during the Prisci block as well as two additional votes during a standard referendum? If no, does he lose the Prisci vote or does he lose the advantage of the Legendary? I can see him loosing his title if he were voted to be a Archbishop, but the Legendary seems a little out side the norm. Next question: Can you pitch votes during the Prisci block . Ie- can I pitch a Banishment from my hand to add additional votes? Reaction cards? Can I pitch the edge? BTW: Thanks James.

Yep. That's analogous to Genevieve, who has one Priscus vote (being a Priscus) and one normal vote (card text). Gratiano with Legendary Vampire will cast: - 1 vote in the Prisci vote (title) - 1 vote (making two total) in the Prisci vote (card text) - 2 votes in the main referendum (Legendary card text) >If no, does he lose the Prisci vote or does he lose the advantage of >the Legendary? Neither. The extra votes from Legendary aren't considered a title. The only things that are considered a title are: - A vampire with a title printed on them (like Rake, say) - An independent vampire who has a number of innate votes printed on them (like Ezmerelda) - A vampire with an effect on them which is specifically worded as a title >I can see him loosing his title if he were voted to be a Archbishop, >but the Legendary seems a little out side the norm. It's just card text granting votes. >Next question: >Can you pitch votes during the Prisci block . Ie- can I pitch a >Banishment from my hand to add additional votes? > >Reaction cards? > >Can I pitch the edge? Nope to all three: "Each ready priscus provides one vote for this sub-referendum, and *no other votes* may be used in this sub-referendum." [6.3.3 The Prisci Block] So specific card text (like Gratiano's) is needed to over-rule this. (By the golden rule of cards, where cards contradict the rules.) None of the current Political Action cards (e.g. Banishment) have such card text, nor any of the reaction cards, nor anything to do with the edge. *Theoretically*, there could be that said something like "Put this card in play. If you control the Edge, you may burn it during a referendum to gain and cast one vote in the Priscus sub-referendum." Currently, there isn't. [ quoted text not captured ]

[LSJ 19970224] " >So can Conflict of Interests, Kindred Coercion, and Pulling Strings be used >during the Prisci sub-referendum? Well, they're played on the vampire and they affect the way he votes in both the main referendum and the sub-referendum, rather than just for the sub-referendum per se. [ quoted text not captured ]

Take it as you must, though. Some things are starting to become clear, what with having located another news server for myself, finally being able to read your positions on the whole Jack Crow issue, and now this. You don't actually seem to understand some things about communicating via e-mail, USENET, or whichever. This isn't intended as a cheap shot, it's just a statement. Tone of voice doesn't carry through text. That's why those evil "emoticons" such as :) and the rest have survived for so long; they provide some hint as to what tone of voice the reader SHOULD be applying to the message. Now, look back at what you said. I know that you HEARD yourself saying it and being funny in your own head, but there isn't a damn thing to let us know that you're trying to be funny there, and given your history, you got blasted for it. If you had posted it as: >> > represent dates (YYYYMMDD). Bass ackwards, just like a whole bunch >> > of things about this game... :) nobody would've said SHIT to you. It's amazing how much difference a few characters can make... especially if you're a notorious flamer. I suppose this is why I litter my own messages with :) sometimes, to make sure people don't accidentally take me TOO seriously. A little self-awareness is all it takes. Again, this is not intended as a flame, just as a suggestion; and maybe you'll understand more why we take potshots at Jack Crow so much. What you say isn't even REMOTELY as important as how you say it.

If you had posted it as: > >>>> represent dates (YYYYMMDD). Bass ackwards, just like a whole bunch >>>> of things about this game... :) > > nobody would've said SHIT to you. ...is spot on. Given your negativity in other discussions (e.g., the whole "fleecing" issue) I "took it as I must," in absence of any other evidence. (That is, I assumed you to be bashing the game.) Andrew Davidson, when called on the same kind of thing, said emoticons, etc, were too "cutesy" for him. Nevertheless, he has tossed in a few "<grin>"s since then when he's saying something that really *could* be taken seriously. You may well say "You should get it from context; deal with it," in which case you will get blasted without the benefit of the doubt, deal with it. However you do it, don't expect us to read your mind. Feel free to reply with "Down, boy! Joke! Joke!" should I/we snarl in misunderstanding; you'll come out looking better than if you used a harsh rebuke, not to mention it would "provide some levity." =) ("Jack Crow," the entire above paragraph applies to you as well. Assuming you can read my posts; I've lost track of who is and isn't filtering posts of people they don't want to hear. =) [ quoted text not captured ]
