Gambit Accepted
Type: Master
Master.
Only usable if you have at least 1 victory point. Lose 1 victory point
and put this card in play. During your untap phase, move 1 pool from
your prey's pool to your pool. If you are ousted, your predator gains
an additional victory point. At the end of the game, if you have not
been ousted, you gain an additional victory point.
Rarity: Anarchs:R KoT:R
I really like the idea of playing this in more decks, was wandering if
anyone has used it successfully or strategically, and what was the
deck that used it?

I got a game win in Texas at the Qualifier in Austin in 2008 with this
card.
It was weenie aus and Genina putting Reanimated Corpses and Nightmare
Curses into lay and hidden lurker compress amaranth

The body or the subject should just be dumped in the water, with a heavy
weight firmly tied around it, so it stays under the water line. You'll get
used to it.

This card is good for any deck that is hard to kill and gets its first
victory point much easier than the next one(s).
I played it in one version of my Edward vignes deck (with 25
defelctions). I'm sure there's plenty of other decks in which it fits.

I used it succesfully in an old Giovanni bleed deck, because you can discard
it if you get it in the beginning of the game and get it back when you need
it.
But for decks that make fast VPs Momentum`s Edge is less risky, and The
Bitter and Sweet Story is, well, sweet.

What to do with it? Play Last Stand instead. ;)

Last Stand is good for high-speed bleeders...
Gambit Accepted I think is an excellent alternative tool to Smiling
Jack for a Wall deck. I'm thinking of reshaping a deck from JOL with
some of the "also ran" cards... like Gambit Accepted and maybe include
Smiling Jack...
However, that deck has proven to be a block machine...

The problem with cards like this is that they are so rarely played
that it's hard to have any sort of evidence to back up an argument.
My personal experiences have suggested that the card is woefully
underplayed.
The reason why I don't put it into more decks is because very few of
my decks can reliably get a VP ... charitably adding - in a timely
manner.
Anyway, as to the awesomeness of it, it has very little to do with the
main effect and a lot more to do with the supposed drawback (besides
the true drawback of not being able to play it until you meet certain
conditions). What really happens when you put it into play? With a
bad player prey, the player will probably overreact and try to get you
ousted or screw with you or something. But, in reality, most of the
time, having you be ousted is the very worst possible thing that can
happen for the table outside of your predator.
It's really a "if I get ousted, my predator wins" play that should
highly discourage anyone from wanting you to be ousted. Except, not
everyone plays to win, contrary to what they should be doing.
Then, losing a VP as a cost is, IMO, way overrated. Even if you lose
a VP, did that make a difference getting to the final table? Getting
better seating? Winning the tournament? The problem here is that
there's too little statistical evidence to argue one way or the
other. It's just theory.
Anyway, can't play a Pariah or Path of the Void deck without it ...
right?
